Most modern cars are much harder to steal but it is too bad that a sophisticated car thief will know how to detect that your car has an AirTag and then search and remove it before taking it to a chop shop.

Not everyone wants a keyring for it, some want to just put into a little pouch or pocket of a wallet or backpack

Nobody cares about Air Tags. Before people come at me, what I mean is that this is niche and only for the Apple diehards, not regular people

Make an airtag for glasses. There’s no worse feeling in the world when losing your glasses and not being able to see

    April 21, 2021 at 7:57 am

Disappointed that there was no geofence type feature mentioned with the AirTags.
This would be extremely useful for example if you left your bag, backpack in a restaurant, or even on a train, and you would receive a notification on your iPhone as you were about to leave the restaurant, train. Seems a big feature omission, as other manufacturers have this feature from what I can remember reading.

  28. V Mag

    April 21, 2021 at 9:29 am

Apple Air Tags are useless for anti theft. The anti stalker feature will alert the thief that they are being stalked. Lol

  31. HausOfMontague

    April 21, 2021 at 11:22 am

So basically these work exactly like Tile. Except instead of relying on other Tile users to find things outside Bluetooth range it uses other iPhones. That’s neat.

Still waiting for when someone will create and release true GPS style tags so I can track which park my daughter dropped her favorite Elsa doll in.

Will Airtags work with older iPhones? I have the XS

    • seeblue54

      April 21, 2021 at 2:24 pm

Yes. Any iPhone running iOS 14.5. Older iPhones (older than iPhone 11) w/o the UI chip won’t be able to use the new directional finding tools in the app when close up. But the audio ping will still work. IOW, for older phones, Find My for AirTags will work just as it does for a lost, stolen or misplaced iPhone.

Looking forward to my girlfriend hiding one in my car so she can track me at the gentlemans club 😐

    • Jango

      April 21, 2021 at 2:49 pm

@Darth Sidious Yes, but it’s more fun doing it the ‘old fashioned way’. 😉 Boba’s a pussy…I ditched him on Tatooine light years ago…
