Thirty trucks a day. That’s not a stopgap, that’s a symptom. Power infrastructure is the real bottleneck in this buildout cycle.

Really, we have a diesel shortage and they are trucking out natural gas.. forward-thinking geniuses of the year in the data center industry aren’t they.

You know it’s kind of even more messed up, when you slap one of these down near town. The town has peaks and valleys if you where to put the power on a graph. Peak power usage is generally between 2 to 9 you know everybody’s home and awake.

Now if you were to draw a data centers usage of power on a graph you would find it’s just a straight line across 24 hours a day at a certain rate.

Now what happens is when you get a heat wave, the power of the town is using will generally increase because you know everybody’s got to stay cool they got to plug the fans and then the AC units. Which increases demand and has overtaxed the grid on its own, now you’re adding a data center on top of that.

Which leads to rolling brownouts, but they have priority contracts with the power companies meaning they don’t experience the burnout. it’s just everybody else that has to deal with it.
