What if the path to peace starts with self-interest? After four decades inside some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones, mediator Hiba Qasas has learned that most peacebuilding efforts get it wrong from the start. She makes a provocative case that conciliation shouldn’t begin with empathy — and reveals how leading with shared incentives brought hundreds of Israeli and Palestinian leaders into active collaboration, even in the midst of war.

The ONLY two reasons that we deal with the silly concept of ‘war’ are (in no particular order) ‘religion’, and ‘money’. Fix that, and diplomacy becomes unnecessary. Frankly, I personally believe that both are a complete waste of time, and deplete our creativity, and coordination. ‘Greed’ and ‘god’ will destroy us- IF we let them.

      What a naive comment . . .

I include ALL religions – including the ‘guy with the pitchfork ‘down there’….

This is a very disingenuous speech. There are many sentences laid with subtext and diversion. For example, Palestinians aren’t having to ask simply just for ‘dignity’, they are asking for their lives also.

I love that the person said to believe in completing the common ground
    For a company it’s profit
For a parent its their children
For a country it’s it people and government
If we all just focus on ourselves than others in terms of our common ground objectives then as a nation and also as a global economy we can grow ✨

Today’s world is totally absent from peace, empathy, love, friendship, brotherhood, dignity, and happiness.
The global nations of the world are engaged in power, greed, and grabbing of other nations’ resources and wealth through politicism, religious biasness and enforcing all kinds of sanctions.
The UN organizations are completely inactive and inefficient to carry out their businesses, for which they came into existence based on the needs by the global nations after the tragic and horrific results of the two great world Wars.
The point lies in what the present nations of the world expect from the UN and its auxiliary bodies?

But islam is controlling the narrative.. their religion is their politics, their values.. and its pretty violent. To them we are the non believers.

Where you live shapes your relationships, your emotions and even how long you live, says community designer Zach DeBoer. After studying what a century of building cities around cars has done to downtowns in the US, he turned to lessons from some of the most walkable, carefully designed streets in the country: the ones inside Disney theme parks. With ideas ranging from narrower roads to buildings that pull you around the next corner, he offers a practical guide to turning ordinary downtowns into magical places people want to explore.
