Remote don’t have play and pause button! My cx seems to be better than g1. Also my 32 inch lg tv remote is golden in color! Better than all the flagships cx

Makes people sad by dropping their phone lines including the LG GX line

LG: let’s rub it in by using the naming convention of our most popular phone line for our tv line 😈

    • chazwwe

      April 16, 2021 at 7:38 pm

The GX wasn’t a line? It was the Gallery line, so G9, GX, etc, same with the C line, C9, CX. They’re now doing it with a 1 instead, G1, C1.

Nothing beats OLED in terms of the visual quality. Nothing.

  16. Robert Gingg

    April 16, 2021 at 5:59 pm

Never could find one available. So I got a LG C1 instead. $400 cheaper, available and looks amazing.

    • Toby Morvant

      April 16, 2021 at 11:06 pm

I’m thinking of going that route. You also have to crap up $100 for a stand with the G1. Do you game on your c1?

Should’ve done picture quality comparison on better content than YouTube tho. Maybe do with Dolby Vision contents in Netflix, which probably can shows how much the brightness boost on the Evo panel. My 2 cents

  23. Edmon Uyan

    April 16, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Funny for a review from a major site such as cnet and it starts and focuses mainly on
    – external aesthetics (mountability), thinness
    – remote, ui, alexa

And its main selling features giving it a premium are all an afterthought of this review — it started around the 5 minute mark of this 9 minute long mess.
    – picture quality
    – gsync/freesync capability oob
    – 4x hdmi 2.1 ports giving 4x 4k@120 enabled ports

In all, this “review” as expected from a major site is so out of touch, super basic obvious, and sadly ignorant of what next gen tvs such as this is all about.

Funny also that reviewing a high end next gen tv, and you’re pairing it with an OG vcr type xbox one which we all know is Microsoft’s biggest console blunder. No one in their right mind will have such an unbalanced pair.

    • Michelle Alexandria

      April 16, 2021 at 10:02 pm

the main selling point of this tv and the gallery series in general over the C1 and C series is the thinness and gallery design. The main point over previous year’s models is the new UI, new Remote and Evo panel. Everyone already knows what type of picture OLED delivers, so maybe its you that’s out of touch.

In the future please censor the part when he says Alexa so viewers don’t have to deal with trying to cancel that Echo command.

Such a good tv please keep in mind brightness measurements don’t tell the full story what matters is content and you have to use dynamic tone mapping the g1 is onyl 20 percent brighter which isn’t as much as you think but the color purity is def better the new game optimizer is amazing the new panel imo is better and guys give it 200 hours to warm up you will be surprised at how much better it gets as it warms up def needs a break from seems like thw a90j does alson people keep expecting huge differences oled is already so good you should only expect small differences I noticed a difference in the c1 over the cx with DTM on and def with the g1 the color is just better also something he isn’t bringing up much which to me is a huge deal better upscaking better above black perforation better gradation pretty much better in every area as Vincent pointed out to me being better even if slightly in every area is completely worth getting over the old ones

Any pink tint and brightness drops off angled?

  46. nero

    April 18, 2021 at 1:49 pm

Hi, CNET, thank you for this review! especially nice that you showed it from all angles, was important to me. Seems like the g1 is thicker than the thinnest areas of the c1, which I do like. c1 feels like its gonna bend when carrying. I want something thats a bit sturdier so g1 seems better actually, while still being thin.
