No headphone jack on a laptop? No thanks, sounds like a horrible “Innovation”.

I think it’s dumb how the xps doesn’t have a headphone jack. Like it’s a joke how little space it takes up.

Yoga 9i 14 gen 7 highly deserved being earlier in the video over the lame Dell XPS 13 Plus. That 13 Plus innovated in nothing while the 9i gen 7 improved 110% over the previous 9i gen 6. And you mentioned those side keys which are practically useless for every day actual use. What mattered is that it got 14 inch 16:10 OLED display with a QHD option and also added a USB-C port on the right side for double sided charging.

January 7, 2022 at 10:57 pm
I’m not an XPS hater by any means, or at least I wasn’t, until now. I think the XPS 13 Plus is going to flop. I think the trackpad and keyboard area look *worse* than they did on last year’s models, in addition to being less functional. Function vs. fashion—make something more helpful or more sexy, preferably both, but they declined in both categories as far as I’m concerned.

Hoping for a follow-up on which of these has the best bang for buck. Each of these new gizmos added in not only increase one (or several) functions, but also increase the price. I trust Cnet to determine actual vs. supposed worth of such upgrades and my hope is that follow-up won’t be for the next yuletide buying guide. Also, I like your sweater.

despite the annoying flickering touchbar, the dell xps plus looks very good. barely any logos, and a clean front look where the touchpad is. that is strictly on aesthetics.

Why do you peeps at CNET hate full sized keyboards on laptops?

cnet hires people who like the look of laptops rather than performance, you dont even give us specs so we can compare. CNET, the channel the gives you information that doesnt.

I am going for lenovo legion 5 pro 2021 latest In March 2022
But lenovo legion 5 pro 2022 version will also be released after that
Should I wait for it
I already waited for 1 and half year
Or should I go for 2021 version legion 5 pro
I don’t want to wait to long
And it should be around 1.5 to 1.7 lakh
So Is it worth waiting
Or I should go for 2021 version only
And 2021 might get cheaper also
Pls read and tell

Buy the best laptop you can afford when you need it. If you can wait 12 months then obviously you don’t need it right now. But when you do need the upgraded power get the best you can afford for the best lifespan.

You will be missing out the DDR5 ram and the latest 12th gen or 6thousand series of amd cpu. Wait for it you might get better cooling vaper chambers and better battery life aswell which you won’t regret atleast for the next 3 years.

Well, I code for live performances and interactive programs that also makes use of ML, these demand a lot of computing power especially when I’m working with image processing. I edit a lot of large video projects and do a lot of audio production for my work. Some of my less intensive tasks would be auditing and maintaining websites for an organization that I work in. I don’t have a laptop of my own, I’m currently borrowing from my parents but I still use it way more than any of my own devices. Does this sound like nothing to you?

Please do *NOT* give Dell praise for the design choices theyve made with the XPS 13+. That garbage needs to flop so we don’t see it ever again. Also we need to get Dell to make the Alienware laptops with 3:2 screens.

Dell utilizes the same business model as the car manufacturers.

I love Chromebooks, but people should be aware that sometimes the document being edited doesn’t sync with the cloud, even with a strong internet connection. When this occurs, you can’t share or download (as PDF) that document until it syncs with the cloud (which can sometimes take 1-2 hours). This can be quite frustrating if a submission deadline approaches.

Does a laptop OLED display have the same problem with burn-in as the TV OLED displays? I would think that the icons on the screen would eventually burn into the display, as they’re always in the same position.
