Is QLED better? That’s what I’ve heard. I think OLED has bad image burn

    • S C

      February 28, 2021 at 12:08 am

      @Jake Riffle buy both

    • GAMEBOIMARCUS

      February 28, 2021 at 12:23 am

@Jake Riffle From what I researched, QLED won’t have burn ins and are a lot cheaper, but is closer to OLED than LCD.

Just to be clear, for phones and possibly tablets, OLED is the way to go because we upgrade our phones 2 to 4 years, so the burn-ins does not matter as much. Not sure about others, but when I buy a TV, it’s for the next 10 years. 😂

That 4KTV is good but the HDR sucks. Which is huge if you want to play PS5 games in a nice colors. Everything else is good. If you get the other 4KTVs like Sony X900H, you’re good to go.

Input lag is one of the biggest factors to take into consideration when buying a TV for gaming. Would’ve liked for you to mention the numbers for each display 🤷🏾‍♂️

I love the way you say Mario it reminds me of back home. I also have a suggestion for a video it’s a problem I’m having with my personal computer setup. I’ve taken your guy’s advice and found the TV that works for me for gaming except now my video card doesn’t like the 4K TV maybe do reviews on video cards that can take a 65 inch 4K TV

honestly I have the lg cx and it IS really good. but I feel like to call it the BEST all around gaming tv is a bit biased. there are other tvs that are brighter with slightly betta input lag and don’t have the burn in issue. but it’s definitely not a bad choice for a gaming tv

    • Carpediem06

      February 27, 2021 at 5:32 pm

best all round TV perhaps, yes, you’re right. I think the fact (HDTVTEST youtube) argues OLEDs don’t have enough peak brightness to truly be a ‘best performing’ HDR producing television

  13. cbalano

    February 27, 2021 at 5:49 pm

What is conveniently left out of David’s advice is that OLEDs suffer from terrible burn-in issues, while LCDs don’t. I was an early adopter of plasma TVs, which also suffer from burn-in, and let me tell you, burn-in is a bigger issue than a slight drop in image quality – by a country mile.

Because of the burn-in, you will not be comfortable using your TV, you will always be mindful of watching certain content, for fear that the TV station logo, stock exchange ticker line, breaking news banner etc. will permanently become etched into the screen.

Good thing you made this video! Love your reviews on Series X/PS5. I need a new 4KTV which I’m upgrading for a Sony X900H & PS5.

I have a PS4 with a Magnavox 22 inch 1080i HDTV. Upgrading both the TV and current console later this year.

My older brother wants to give me his 4KTV but that TV sucks for PS5. Even if I save money on buying the Sony X900H, I won’t see the next gen benefits on the 4KTV he’s giving me.

He has an Apple TV subscription so he can still use his 4KTV to watch movies on it. Would be a colossal waste to use his 4KTV without good HDR and HDMi 2.1 on my PS5.

Plus I’m using the Sony X900H for 4K Blu Ray movies as well outside of games. Anytime I want to watch a 4K Blu Ray movie on PS5, I can use the Ultra HD Blu Ray discs on the console and in that display, will be amazing for new and older movies that aren’t Blu Ray for 1080p like my PS4 console was for games running in 1080p.

Hopefully Sony X900H drops in price soon but It will be quite a while before that even occurs.

Would have gotten the LG Nanocell 85 but that 4KTV sucks for HDR, which you need for PS5 games to look great even if both 4KTVs have 120 Variable Refresh Rates with HDMI 2.1 output.

Sony X900H all the way. It will be worth it in the long run for how much it costs. Will last me a very long time.

if you have a PS5 or Xbox series x, then you should get a tv with 4k 120Hz in game mode, otherwise it’s pointless, really – only very few tvs have this right now

I like how they mention black level as the most important thing for gaming when it’s really not crucial for gaming. Input lag is and always will be king IMO and refresh rate is vying for that spot this time around with 120hz support on next-gen consoles. Black level, while an amazing feature for many use cases, would be lower on my priorities in a gaming focused purchase.

I’m debating between the Hisense h9g vs the Tcl r635

    • David Vangelo

      February 28, 2021 at 9:50 pm

The TCLR635 doesn’t even have hdmi 2.1. So no 4k 120hz vrr at all. Get the Nanocell90 if you want that. If you don’t care about 120fps then stay with the Tcl it can do 4k 60fps with vrr.

    • Apple_Boy _911

      February 28, 2021 at 9:55 pm

@David Vangelo no you wrong it can do 1080p/120fps and 1440p/120fps. It can’t do 4K 120 but it can do 4k60 both Xbox Series X and PS5 is not strong enough to run high end games at 4K 120 and the 6 Series has VRR on both settings all you gotta do is type in TCL R635 gaming specs it will show you everything you need to know also the TCL 6 series has micro led so it blows the doors off the Nanocell90 in terms of picture quality, contrast color, vibrancy and brightness in other words TCL 6 Series has much better picture quality, if you gonna get the nanocell90 you might as well get the Sony X900h the both come in around the same price nanocell90 is 900 dollars for the 55 inch and the Sony is X900h is 999 dollars for it’s 55inch if you looking for value and premium quality might as well get the 6 series which is 650

    • David Vangelo

      February 28, 2021 at 10:02 pm

      @Apple_Boy _911 No I’m not wrong. It can’t do 4k 120fps. Hdmi 2.0 limitations

    • Apple_Boy _911

      February 28, 2021 at 10:09 pm

@David Vangelo most games on the next gen consoles won’t run at 120mhz might as well save your money and go with the tv that has much better picture quality and has about the same gaming features minus the 4K 120 TCL 6 has VRR at 1440p and 1080p and it’s a 120mhz I’m not lying the 6 series has way better picture quality then the nanocell90, the 6 series can get up to a 900 nits in HDR mode sometimes a 1000 depending on what you watching the Nanocell90 can get up 400 In real time that’s a huge difference in brightness, the image on the TCL 6 Series gonna have much more pop to it, I know the nanocell90 is a good tv but I feel the picture quality will help out any weakness it has the 6 series has very good gaming features as well and it’s 250 dollars cheaper

    • Apple_Boy _911

      February 28, 2021 at 10:27 pm

@David Vangelo I understand what you saying if 4k 120mhz is most important to you then all means get the nanocell90 but why not spend a little more and get the much better Sony X900H? With the same gaming features but if you want to save and can’t afford only so much but want a tv that check all the boxes that has premium picture quality very good sound and great gaming features go with the TCL R635

Yhh their TV has so much problem especially the M8 2020 version.
The only tv that I thought it was worth buying was the Hisense H9G

But it also turns out it has a red ghosting issue.

I wanted to but the Sony x900h buh the thing is there is no way am buying a TV for $1000 at 55 inch

  34. Apple_Boy _911

    February 28, 2021 at 5:41 pm

TCL R635 is the best value tv of 2020 it has 120mhz panel VRR it gets very bright in SDR and HDR it has Micro LED and Dolby Atmos built in it can go toe to toe with the Sony X900H, I will go off on a limb and say the TCL R635 will be best value tv of 2021, TCL already came out and say they will continue to make this tv through out the year, even they know this tv was ahead of it’s time when it came out last year. All that performance for 650 dollars??? no tv will come close to the TCL R635 performance at that price range

I got the 55″ CX late last year and it has improved my gaming experience so much. No screen tearing because of the freesync/g-sync compatibility. 120hz. It’s an awesome TV. If you’re willing to pay more the new G1 is coming out soon and will have an even brighter panel.

Sony OLEDs don’t have 2.1 hdmi so it’s not 120hz input. Sony x900h, LG nanocell 85/90 and CX have it. Buy Sony for cinema, LG for cinema/gaming

I’ve got the LG CX and it hasn’t had any issues whatsoever. I know it can be but it shifts around the image on a timer and has screensavers if you’re away for too long. It’s not so much of an issue anymore unless you mess up the settings

    • Jonathan Davis

I have the LG C9 OLED and I can tell you it’s absolutely amazing to game on! It’s 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, supports G-SYNC, and the HDR & colors just pop. I have my PC hooked up via HDMI 2.1 (using Nvidia RTX 3070) and play at 1440p. Destiny 2, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Division 2, CoD Warzone, and Metro Exodus all look fantastic!

    • Dryvlyne

@LIONEL SNITCHIE yeah, it’s last years model so it may well be discontinued. I got last March on sale for around $1500 after tax. Which to me isn’t bad because it’s the 55″ and that’s the MSRP of the 2021 48″ model. Either way, it was money well spent imo. I love gaming on it and wish more people had the opportunity to see it in real life. To me it’s the peerfect cross-section between TV & PC monitor technology.

I seriously don’t think these guys really play or know anything…I’ve had the x900h for about 4months & return it the moment the vrr wasn’t promised & the hdmi2.1 was broken not to be fixed..then got cx48 it was not to far off from x900h & it just seem to dim.. so I returned it & got i know for a fact is the best t.v in 2020 was the sony x950h when I tell you that x1 chip is so good & faster than both hdmi 2.1 tvs cx48 & x900h…it has the feature smooth gradation when you switch that on it’s like accelerates the gameplay without losing picture quality..TRUST ME I have ps5 & a pc with a rtx 2080ti & both single player games & Call of Duty on ps5 i played at 120hz on both cx48 & x900h…the x950h beats them both on speed, input & time to kill…it blew my mind that nobody was talking more about x950h & the x1 ultimate processor..I returned the x950h because we’re only a month away from the sony 2021 tvs to drop.. but if the x90j or x95j don’t match or have smooth gradation included..I’ll settle for the x950h it’s that Amazing
