Great ideas are like electricity — they snap into sharp focus and sprint from place to place. What’s the best way to capture them? Bozoma Saint John, Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix, makes a compelling case to move away from an overreliance on data when making big decisions — and calls on us all to tap into the power of our intuition and become creative trailblazers.

Did she compare herself to Henry Ford? She’s very engaging but just cuz she bet on Beyoncé she’s all of a sudden oozing all this intuition.

    • Kristen T.

      December 7, 2021 at 3:17 am

I think Henry Ford was brought up to illustate the point of how powerful anyone* can be for following their intuition under the right circumstances. Let’s not reduce the brilliance of her talk to the idea that she was just “lucky” with suggesting Beyonce for the Pepsi campaign.

    • dryzalizer

      December 7, 2021 at 9:18 pm

If you look up her wikipedia page, she’s launched many successful campaigns for huge companies like Beats, Apple, Pepsi, etc. in her career. She was just telling the story of her first one.

I have seen better days. Sometimes life is hard to take and it gets harder to take it all alone. But I am not alone! I have dreams to chase and melodies to surpass the dark days. I have limitless space to unfold my true potential. I’m the one who needs no one to fire up. ‘Cause I’m strong and I have a mind which is positively wired up.

LLMs may have kicked off this AI boom, but the ceiling is closer than the hype suggests. As models run out of text data to train on, the companies and investors paying attention are already moving on. The next wave isn’t better chatbots; it’s machines that can understand the physical world. Luma AI, the Bay Area lab that raised over $1.4 billion from a16z, Nvidia, and Amazon, is betting on exactly that.

On episode of TechCrunch’s Equity podcast, we’re bringing you a conversation Rebecca Bellan sat down with Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of Luma AI, at Web Summit Qatar. Together, the pair dug into where the next trillion-dollar AI opportunity actually gets built, and whether the companies chasing it even know what they’re building yet.
