I love it: the dad playing and the child watching and disturbing him. That’s what Nintendo did to last generation kids.

Mario drone next! Also, would be great if you can link to your raspberry pi Arduino robot and control them. Get kids or even adults into fun coding. Like stem projects.

I’d love to see the next evolution of this. Hopefully Nintendo continues to strive for more games in this AR environment.

    • Metalpug79

      October 17, 2020 at 3:54 am

Can you imagine a Star Fox AR game that uses one of those small & fast racing, and highly maneuverable drones… or why not do a variety pack like they do with LABO Kits, and make an AR PilotWings game using drones with cameras. They can have all my money if they do stuff like that! Haha ✌️😋

    • Daniel Morris

      October 17, 2020 at 10:37 am

Since the AR covers the cart, the possibilities are huge. They could make a sturdy little Link figure with a flat base on wheels, then have the AR cover him with a running animation as you adventure around your house.

First you’d have him run around the entire circumference of your playable area, then it would populate the whole place with monsters and chests and stuff. Cardboard doorways would block entrance until you find the keys. It’d be amazing

    • Metalpug79

      October 17, 2020 at 2:33 pm

@Daniel Morris that’s a really good point and idea! Man, I think they may have something here… I hope they’re working on other ideas using AR like this. I know they’ve been trying to get AR to take off with many of their handhelds in the past, this might be their first real hit

Why do you get all the stuff early

    • YawnBlue

      October 16, 2020 at 8:29 pm

Reviewers get stuff early so they have time to mess around with things and are able to give their impressions for their audience/people on the fence to make judgments with. Long story short: It’s their job. 😛

Sad, he even admitted he probably won’t be playing a week from now and makes a joke about it?!? For $100.

THIS crap keeps getting made but we can’t even get a sequel to ModNation on PS5? Smh. This is nowhere near as good.

  28. Sean Kanoog

    October 17, 2020 at 3:13 am

Its not to bad, only a small price of $1,600 for four players or $1,200 with the Switch Lite. I’m sure any regular family house hold can easily fit this into their Christmas budget. haha Jokes aside, if you already own a Switch like you do, the fun is creating and using the course. So this is a really impressive new technology for video games which I’m excited for.

Has bad quality camera and the distance is 5 metres so can’t ever drive into another room unless u follow it with your switch . But with all them downsides it’s still a great game

    • Hunter Jay

      October 17, 2020 at 3:15 pm

Honestly that would be pretty cool to follow the racetrack through your house and see yourself in the game. Also, how do you know the camera quality? It looked fine in this video.

Requirements: A Big House for room space…

    • Seba

      October 18, 2020 at 3:05 am

There’s a problem, If you have too mutch space you soon quickly realize how limiting the range is, sadly, you can’t use your entire house…. unless you run after your RC and hope that the signal of the wifi goes along

    • Tyler6

      October 18, 2020 at 10:52 am

@Seba Well true because it’s 30 foot range but not everywhere is huge. Like not many people have enough space to create a long track.

  32. Jason Kaplan

    October 17, 2020 at 12:36 pm

See, here’s the thing. The toy really does look awesome, but the problem is I KNOW that I’ll play it once and then never play it again.

Nintendo is always an innovative brand in gaming. Glad they push new ideas than just raw horsepower and graphics. And the majority of their games are always fun.
