at no point did they bother to mention any temp because EVs will be useless the colder it gets

@@HELLBENDER77My family has 2 EV’s and 2 ICE vehicles…I only have problems with the ICE vehicles in extreme cold temperatures. Now these are older vehicles than the EV’s but we did purchase them from new and the issues were similar to current state. I much prefer my EV when the temps dip…I never have to go outside to start it to warm it up, or fuel it. It’s always warm when I get into it and the battery is always topped up. Oh and I’ve never needed to use an ice scraper on the glass either as it takes care of that as well.

Why does Norway have a 96% EV adoption rate without incentives?

Ah yes. A video trying to debunk what a battery has always done when it gets cold…..

Now we must adapt this magic battery for everything else! Why keeping winter-proof battery only to these very special EVs?

  9. @Gravage

    March 26, 2025 at 10:11 am

500 mile range on an EV is a pipe dream right now. Those numbers are grossly exaggerated, even more so than the MPG ratings of gasoline vehicles.

    • @Kurre.

      March 26, 2025 at 2:14 pm

Who drives 500 miles in one go? There are Chinese EVs that can do that tho… They also charge in 10 minutes. BYD Tang 2026 to be precise

  10. @gauteweb

    March 26, 2025 at 10:21 am

Live in Norway, have had EV’s the last six years. Absolutely no problem in the winter, of course the range drops, but in total a much more reliable winter-car than any petrol og diesel car. I have the Volvo EX30 (Ultra Performance) now and it’s without a doubt the best winter car I’ve ever had!

  11. @KeithBarnett

    March 26, 2025 at 12:17 pm

Many people in cold regions that had electric switched back to a gas car. They take a lot longer to recharge when cold. Also if getting stranded in the cold you’ll wish it was a gas car so you can run the heater longer.

    • @ohrosberg

      March 26, 2025 at 1:01 pm

Norwegian EV owner here. Not true, at least not in Norway. Statistics shows that EVs has far less problems in the winter in our coldest regions compared to gas cars. So, they are preferred. Also, charging is the same in winter as it is in the summer, only the range suffers. And, you can run the heater for a very long time in an EV if you’re not driving. Even at half charge you can stay nice and warm overnight. Actually, it is riskier to do that in a gas car, because CO can enter the car through your AC when you’re standing still, which is potentially lethal.

You forgot to mention that you will be stuck in the cold for 30 minutes when you charge the battery of the car compared to the 5 minutes you last with a gasoline car.

  14. @chm2

    March 26, 2025 at 2:16 pm

This was pretty much a propaganda video

  16. @stickynorth

Canada should be used as car test bed permanently since we regularly achieve -40c and +40c within one six month test cycle… At least here in Central Alberta!

  17. @RohanThota

    March 26, 2025 at 3:24 pm

u CAN drive but with depleted range it isn’t worth it.

    u haven’t seen canadian snow 😂

  19. @kkedarpp

    March 26, 2025 at 5:51 pm

It’s not about the cars, it’s the charging network that is the roadblock, at least in the US.
