People who have to work are offended. The word work implies physical exhaustion, getting dirty, and the possibility of injury or even death. You have a job. That’s different than work. The English language desperately needs a new word to differentiate.

Yes because “Leaders” aren’t exactly the core problem with the current working landscape… Clearly solid “Leadership” will pick this broken system up by it’s bootstraps and fix institution slavery, debt slavery, and political terrorism. Because a solid “Leader” has been the solution so many times throughout human history, and absolutely not the direct and ultimately liable source of 99.99% of all humanity’s strife. Bring on this brand new “Leadership” model with a new label, I’m sure the brand will soar.

If I can work from any location I want, I will finally attain some degree of freedom.
The biggest advantage of WFM for me is that I can finally work freely in my own way without having someone observing me 24/7. This acts like a catalyst for creativity thereby improving performance.

Micromanagement on the other hand kills creativity

She named one of her kids Abraham… one of the most prolific slave owners of ancient times that used the idea of God to murder commit genocide. Should probably take her message with a grain of salt. Especially since she wants labor to be “data driven”, as if that data isn’t used to maximize profit margins. Corporations don’t care how expensive life is for you.

For starters, let’s make wages adequate with productivity. If the vages kept up with increasing productivity since the 70s workers today would be paid $23 minimum wage.

    • TheAboriginal

      January 1, 2022 at 1:11 pm

Almost no office workers are paid hourly so minimum wage is irrelevant in this context. Companies ought to look at bonus pay etc to better retain talent – but are you suggesting that be federally mandated? I wouldn’t know where you begin to implement something like that.

  33. Sneed

    December 27, 2021 at 1:01 am

all I’m going to say, since my last comment got deleted, is that working from home for me as someone that is pretty much at the bottom of the office hierarchy, is that it’s been crap for me and that the only people pushing for it are the people who run the company. the same people that are saving loads of money by closing offices down, the same people who won’t share that saved money with their employees.

These ideas would have been great 20 years ago. Now, they’re just a last ditch effort to try to salvage the failed and crumbling capitalist system, but all they can do is delay the fall slightly.

When will one of these videos and articles be supportive to the bulk of the working class and not the ones who are privileged enough to work in an office?! I get that the isolation was hard but what about the nurses, grocery store attendants, truck drivers, construction workers, housekeepers, hair dressers, etc who had to face angry and scared people, unrealistic quotas and their own mortality every day.

    • TheAboriginal

      January 1, 2022 at 1:08 pm

What of them? This talk is specifically about office workers. Construction works and medical personnel can’t do their jobs from the living room. Minimum wage for hourly workers has doubled in the past decade and given the current state of the economy hourly workers basically have their choice of jobs.
