We inflict pain in many ways. Sometimes you realize that when it’s too late…. just like the Soviet Union.

Who do you think you are? Ever heard of something called sovereignty? I mean China doesn’t get involved in US problems such as Mass shootings, Racism, Gun Violence, Politics… and America thinks it’s OK to be involved in another countries internal conflicts?

@So So cool. When the Beijing government starts shooting like Tienamen we’ll stay out. I’m sure Europe will come to your rescue.

@chen boya We can beat China without fighting a war. That’s how our leaders will do it. Containment like in the Cold War destroyed the USSR, we will do the same to the CCP.

    • Tom Sawyer

      May 28, 2020 at 1:26 am

@chen boya China is a joke. Its military is made of tiny, 4 foot tall people. Their technology is all stolen and ripped off from the West. They are not battle hardened like the West. Even the tiny island of JAPAN beat China! LOL!

There is in fact a treaty that was supposed to prevent this very type of overreach until 2047. China has officially violated said treaty and ended Hong Kongs special trade status. Xi fails again.

    • Pierre Paul

      May 28, 2020 at 1:02 am

@uberretroguy How xi fails when he made this move? Now the world sees that they’re nothing but a bunch of liars.

    • Tom Sawyer

      May 28, 2020 at 1:21 am

@Pierre Paul English must not be your first (or second) language. I will make it simple for you to understand. Xi has failed to uphold the Sino-British agreement of 1997, and the “one party two system” rule. Hong Kong was promised their status-quo british style autonomy until 2047. China lied. Xi has embarrassed China on the world stage, yet again, and the economic fallout of his decisions will be disastrous for the common chinese citizen.

To think, this was all because book store owners in Honk Kong printed materials about the pedophiles and pedophile facilitators in Beijing. Just because Hong Kong doesn’t want thier children sexually abused by the rich and powerful of the CCP. What do you 50 cent, so and so`s, have to say to defend President Pooh Bear Xi now?

Well it IS a fairly blatant violation of the 1997 agreement and the “one party 2 system” rule. However we all understand communist authoritarians will be communist authoritarians …

The problem is that HK protesters continued to cause chaos even after the extradition bill was removed. It became pretty much a city with no laws. What the news fail to report is that HK police chief and the HK Secretary of security asked Bejing for help and the Liaison office express this urgent need during the recent China congress hall meeting and China immediately took action. HK does not have a military of its own and China is responsible in protecting them in case of war with other country and should have the responsibility to protect national security because HK police force failed. It is establishing a guideline response just like calling in the US national guard, FBI, or US marshals to help a state suppress riots or interstate crimes.

    • Zhao Kwong

      May 28, 2020 at 12:17 am

@Joshua Canales I agree to fighting for rights but when protestors start damaging properties and continue non stop for months, someone needs to step in. The first step is establishing a guideline and how to respond. We have all seen orderly protest turn into riots. Who will help the police if 100 protestors turn into 100000 protestors next day? There are many prospective views of local business owners destroyed by the chaos that you dont hear about in the western news demanding the HK government to respond to control the chaos and they have no choice but to turn to Beijing.

You are NOT listening to HK citizen but to understand the CCP only policy . This have been China not HK government since day one when HK takeover . Why HK continue fighting for their life ? Come on now and instead believing CCP are doing good for all Chinese . Worlds are watching and CCP only know violent to control .

Gotta appreciate Emily’s interview style … asking questions in a way that brings us good insight from influential people. We now have insight into how Hong Kong & China business leaders see the trade friction evolving. Emily’s human touch makes it more than a business interview, she helps us see the challenges leaders face from their own perspective and also respect them for it.

@Bi Li Freedom is the most precious aspect of being human. What good is a life under authoritarian rules? You are not allowed to speak? Or disagree? Or move freely? Or protest conditions? YOU should keep your trap shut. FREE Hong Kong, FREE Tibet, remember Tienanmen Square.

@中国大哥 We have the right to speak freely here, unlike in China. Deal with it. Also the phrase “go back to your motherland” is racist. Are all Chinese so racist?

    • Tom Sawyer

      May 28, 2020 at 1:15 am

@Bi Li Chinas actions prove it doesnt value the lives of its own people. China needs to keep its trap shut! It is NOT as militarily or financially powerful as the West. The economic collapse of China has already begun.

Get used to it fools. China calls the shots because she is the Motherland. The British packed up long ago. Go check if they want to take you clowns in since you have British passports. Remember, the moment you set foot in Britain, you are going to be spit on or beaten because you look Asian. 🙂 These HK morons have it so good compared to others, and all they can do is complain. Yep, poor you. Time to bring out the world’s tiniest violin. 🙂

Unfortunately its too late for China. Chinas economic collapse is now imminent. Xi simply cant comprehend the repercussions of his actions, and the misery its about to bring to the Chinese citizens. Its clear the Chinese authoritarians do not comprehend the importance of the phrase “dont bite the hand that feeds you”. Trade with the west made China successful, now they spit in the Wests eye. China is not as powerful as they think.

  22. cyber tgk

    May 28, 2020 at 1:09 am

The protesters asked for what they are getting in response for their own actions. They deserved to be tackled in they same way they behaved in the protest. No other countries has done it so considerately as the Hong Kong police, yet when they get for what they do and how they behave they conveniently blame China for the action. WAKE UP!! and not just carry the rhetoric of the WEST!! if you continue destroy properties and upset the city’s economy the city’s authority will have to act to restore order and peace , look at yourselves in the mirror before you blame others!

  23. D Q

    May 28, 2020 at 1:16 am

Of course, it’s pretty obvious. That’s why Mike Pompeo declared Hong Kong is not autonomous anymore. HK government is just a puppet of Beijing. Don’t forget when the US let CCP to join the game back in 90’s, CCP agreed to follow the US rules and there is no CCP rule at all.
