Apple 🍎 SE3 with that overly OUTDATED design with that SMALL SCREEN and that too SMALL BATTERY is a HUGE DIAPPOINTMENT !!
Samsung, of course is the best choice here !

Why is no one is talking about how OLD that Apple Design is ? Since iPhone 6 isn’t it ? How many years has it been ?

    • CityPlanner

      March 17, 2022 at 9:12 pm

Because SE has always been using the old design.

    • jackman4500

      March 17, 2022 at 9:36 pm

@CityPlanner Yeah but they could have used iPhone 11 design for that matter ?! Seriously its 2022, every other manufacturer has got ridden of the Notch, and Apple which once used to be the leader will be the last to get rid of the Notch and that to jot in near future, and with SE they are still here with the big Top and Bottom chin!!!
They could have used iPhone 11 design and iPad Air Touch Id button or something like that ! Jobs would have felt the same!

apple should begin to troll the believers and name it L(oser)E(dition), it would be the best upselling strategy.

The marketing strategy of the SE is to attract new customs and draw them into the Apple ecosystem. Touch ID with the circular home button is very iconic for Apple.

The only advantage of SE is the a15 chip and the apple logo.

  9. Tiago Ferreira

    March 17, 2022 at 10:02 pm

lets be real here, if you’re buying the SE you dont need the A15 chip, the galaxy is a no brainer

    • Will Nguyen

      March 17, 2022 at 11:45 pm

You don’t need the A15 chip however I’m pretty sure that people who buy the iPhone SE, won’t change their phones every 2 years. So while the iPhone SE may not use the full power of the A15 chip, it will certainly be able to continue to have updates for probably at least 6 years.

    • The_Natives

Lol anyone who chooses the se over the a53 is down real bad and definitely ngmi

  11. Sâmeky

    March 17, 2022 at 10:23 pm

    Remembering… Specs ≠ experience

With that said, the iPhone SE is a great device for people who want to enter the apple ecosystem, don’t have a high budget and doesn’t want to buy used iphones (in case you’re ok with used/refurbished iphones, the iphones XR and 11 may be much better for you).

And in case you don’t want to go to iOS (or just don’t care at all), I’d say that the Samsung would be a better deal, with better battery life and a more modern design.

For the average user, the specs don’t really matter, and even for more intensive users, both are great.

So the real deciding factors here are:

The OS: which one do you prefer? Android or iOS?

The battery: if you’re an intensive user, even though the iPhone SE presents a faster Chipset, Samsung a53 will be better for you, lasting much longer.

    And finally…
Updates: Samsung usually updates their midrange smartphones about two times, meanwhile, apple usually gives about FIVE YEARS (or more) of updates.

    • Andrei Panghe

They said 4 years for a53

    • Mdogbrown

      March 18, 2022 at 12:11 am

Samsung has been upping their game. 4 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates.

  12. Liviu Rosca

    March 17, 2022 at 10:39 pm

a53 looks nice but after 2 years no more updates, all the apps will make the phone slower and only a custom rom will save the situation. Meanwhile, SE looks outdated but it’s gonna get updates for 5-6 years and overall experience it’s better.

    • Liviu Rosca

      March 17, 2022 at 11:20 pm

@Andrei Panghe i don’t like Apple but they are better on updates. I tried to install custom rom on my S5e, managed to unlock the bootloader but failed to root and install custom recovery. To be honest i hate Samsung software since touchwiz times, i prefer clean Android like Pixel or Sony, Motorola versions. 🙂

    • Liviu Rosca

@Wareen i like from one ui the Dex and in general the better multiwindow support that AOSP android have. Thanks, you too have a good day. 🤗🤗🤗

    • Andrei Panghe

      March 17, 2022 at 11:34 pm

@Liviu Rosca I’m writing this on a Motorola and I will probably get a samsung next. Motorola is only giving 2 years of updates, compared to what samsung offers, which is 4 years. I have a moto g 5g plus. Great hardware. 6gb ram, 128gb memory, 90hz screen. Not the best, as you can get 8g ram and 120hz at the same price now, but still good and not worth to upgrade. But guess what, no mo update, I’m still on android 11. I bought it in January 2021, so i have had it for 1 year and 2 months and it already stop receiving updates. I live in europe and even though Motorola promised 2 years of updates, it was for the American market. Here, in Europe, it come later and it had 1 year and a half of updates. I am frustrated because the hardware is perfectly capable. That why i will not buy Motorola again.

    • Liviu Rosca

      March 17, 2022 at 11:43 pm

@Andrei Panghe i know you live in Europe and most likely in Romania because you have romanian name and you are pretenaș de-al meu. 🙂 That’s way it’s better to have options. I feel sorry for your bad experience, it’s the same story for me. First with tab pro 8.4 and later with s5e. And yes i swich to iphone/ipad last year. 🙂

  16. m

    March 17, 2022 at 11:02 pm

A 128GB iphone SE is 469 GBP which is equivalent to 616USD. On what planet does that deserve to be called a budget phone? In the UK a budget phone is IMHO one that costs less than 150 GBP. And a midrange is say 150 GBP to 300GBP. Maybe 400 GBP absolutely tops. Above 400GBP I’d call it ludicrously priced phones. So that includes the entire Apple iPhone range. Practically speaking the Apple SE is all wrong for the end user. It focuses on 5G and fine performance but at the expense of a laughably old TouchID fingerprint reader and Screen with Chin. Both are apple throwbacks to a previous era. If Apple really cared about bringing a decent iOS phone to the marketplace at a reasonable price they would incorporate a slower last gen processor, drop the 5G, provide faceID and no-chin screen. The Galaxy A53 is now available at 399 GBP retail and the price will fall some in the next months. So unless you are wedded to the Apple walled garden and ecosystem the choice is clear.

    • Benjamin Blum

      March 18, 2022 at 12:11 am

realistically the battery is trash after 4 years use. every android manufacturer went since last year the strategy to give a minimum of 3-5 android generation updates and 4-6years security patches. the se is basically a 2014 iphone 6sssss. you have no benefit from the a15 because you have a under 100€ phone ips panel as naturell limitation.

I owned both iPhone 8 and Galaxy A52, If you really want the iOS experience and apple ecosystem get the new SE otherwise save your money and get the A53 instead since it offers a much better overall spec. You may also need to consider the small battery on the SE as well. It is small even by 2016 standard back then.

The A53 5g will give you 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates. The 128 GB model is great, but only in America. 256gb is available outside America. 5,000mah battery is a huge plus, but no wireless recharging. I prefer Samsung A53 5g over iPhone.

  31. John Doe

    March 18, 2022 at 3:39 am

The SE has a more powerful chip inside, but the A53 is a better buy. Like people, what inside is more important 😜, the SE will likely get the support longer than the A53, and yeah, the design is outdated, but as long as I can use all the apps I want (I don’t game much), I would go for it. The only thing that holds me back is the screen size, if it’s at least 6″, I’ll be all in!

    • Long Nguyen

      March 18, 2022 at 5:24 am

Agree. I feel like the screen and battery on the iphone SE is going to be a problem. As a neutral consumer, the a53 is a better deal for me.

iPhones = Optimization. Nothing comes close. iPhone SE battery life is the only gripe I can think of. You get 4-4.5hrs screen ontime with moderate-heavy usage on 2020 model and apple claims it has improved it by 2hrs in the 2022 model which puts it on par with iPhone 11. This phone is targetted for parents and kids who haven’t used the iPhone before. It’s a very strategic move and keeping the same familiar design works in apple’s flavour all day long. I personally prefer Touch ID for phone and Face ID for tablets. Home button being iconic is a silly argument. It’s all about doing little things, but doing it well.

You did NOT mention that the Samsung battery lasts well over 24 hours, and possibly into 48 hours, while the iPhone sucks at 10 to 15 hours, requiring charging 2x per day. Plus, the iPhone battery specs are now searchable, but for Apple to “hide” that info is a bad signal. Also, those who have used the iPhone camera at night say it STINKS. Thanks for your preview.

Samsung has more fluff, with a weak CPU to try to sway your purchase.

Apple has more power, with less bells and whistles for power users.

It’s going to depend on the user expected experience, but in terms of raw power and lifetime support. The new iPhone SE is 5x more powerful using the same A15 bionic in the iPhone 13. Keep in mind, this chip still destroys their new Gen 1 in the Samsung S22 Ultra.

I hesitated at first cause Samsung took out the headphone jack which was available in the previous version. I like the iPhone SE on account of the classic look like the one touch lock in button and most of all, just 1 camera, how simple is that. Anyway I didn’t mean to write so much, just wanted to just say that I really like your golden hair.

“The A15 is the only advantage of the SE” ?

Well for me, the chip is the end all be all. I own both an iPhone (SE 2020) and an android (Xiaomi Mi 11), and other weaknesses like short battery life, I can remedy myself. A slow phone, is a slow phone no matter what you do. Thus for the android side, if its not SD 800 series or SD 8 Gens, I’m not touching that.

What is the benefit of the powerfull a15 chip, if you dont want to use the Phone?

Bad Display, bad camera (no night mode/ultra wide), bad battery life, small storage
Not even the update policy is a real argument anymore since Samsung offers 5 years of Software support.

A53 is slower than a52. Se3’s speed and speaker is better than S22

Only issue of the A series phones is their build quality is god awful. Most returned phones by far and they are so cheaply made. Yes you may be getting OLED and 120hz, but you sacrifice build quality and poor software support.

SE will always get support. Better off getting a 5A 5G from team Pixel
