It can be hard to remain hopeful during seemingly hopeless times. Sharing hard-won wisdom on how to not give up when the going gets tough, writer Wajahat Ali talks about the challenges he faced with his daughter’s cancer diagnosis and the COVID-19 pandemic, detailing three actionable things we can all do to find the silver linings in our lives — and invest in hope where we can. وبغض النظر عن أفكارنا حول أحداث الماضي/ يجب أن لا نصبح أبدا سجناء لأحداث مضت.

وإنما يجب معالجة مشاكلنا/بواسطة الشراكة كما يجب أن نحقق التقدم بصفة مشتركة.

والسؤال المطروح الآن لا يتعلق بالأمور التي تناهضها ????روسيا،

ولكنه يرتبط بالمستقبل الذي تريد روسيا أن تبنيه.

إن التغلب على فقدان الثقة الذي استمر لعشرات السنوات سيكون صعبا،

ولكننا سنمضي قدما مسلحين بالشجاعة واستقامة النوايا والعزم.

سيكون هناك الكثير من القضايا التي سيناقشها البلدان،

ونحن مستعدون للمضي قدما دون شروط مسبقة على أساس الاحترام المتبادل.

إن الأمر الواضح لجميع المعنيين بموضوع الأسلحة النووية أننا قد وصلنا إلى نقطة تتطلب الحسم،

وهي ببساطة لا ترتبط بمصالح أميركا ولكنها ترتبط بمنع سباق للتسلح النووي قد يدفع بالمنطقة إلى طريق محفوف بالمخاطر ويدمر النظام العالمي لمنع انتشار الأسلحة النووية.

إنني مدرك أن البعض يعترض على حيازة بعض الدول لأسلحة لا توجد مثلها لدى دول أخرى،

ولا ينبغي على أية دولة أن تختار الدول التي تملك أسلحة نووية،

وهذا هو سبب تأكيدي مجددا وبشدة على التزام أميركا بالسعي من أجل عدم امتلاك أي من الدول للأسلحة النووية،

وينبغي على أية دولة بما فيها ????روسيا أن يكون لها حق الوصول إلى الطاقة النووية السلمية إذا امتثلت لمسؤولياتها بموجب معاهدة منع انتشار الأسلحة النووية،

وهذا الالتزام جوهري في المعاهدة ويجب الحفاظ عليه من أجل جميع الملتزمين به.

أنقذ شعوبنا!.
أنقذ كوكبنا ???????????? !!!.

  I hear ya. My unsolicited opinion (feel free to ignore) ????: I think it’s important to wallow a bit. Suffering is painful and to try to pretend it isn’t just compounds the suffering. Give it a time frame, like when you go swimming. Decide when you’ll get out of the pool and dry off, then go find something to make you laugh or at least smile inside, and find things to be grateful for. This is balance. It makes life livable.   @Adox Artist interesting that you say that… I needed to for a while. After all there is a reason why we get depressed.
  I had been ignoring stress and other factors and that denial of pain can only last for so long!
  I woke up today feeling motivated and clear headed. That video really struck a chord with me. Thanks for the advice friend ????????

Great TED talk but not choosing to live in hope is NOT LAZY. Some people actually have depression. It is not their fault. Try living without enough money for food, heat, housing, health care and in an area without investment in education, jobs etc. Much harder to remain hopeful.

I feel that was a talk that is needed. It definitely was needed by me. Thanks.
Was sceptical at first because of the length, but the whole talk was “only” ~8 minutes and totally worth it. afterwards is kind of a Q&A, so listening to the talk it worth it and you can listen longer if you still want but don’t let the time of the video discourage you from starting to watch it.
