The higher tier Xbox is interesting. The current generation came out in 2020. Each generation lasts roughly 8 years. So, it should mean you’d get about 3-5 years out of it.
The only reason I have an Xbox series X and not a PS5 is because for months there were no PS5s to be bought (unless you wanted to pay obscene mark up).
Still don’t have a PS5. It isn’t an issue.
Not sure if I’ll upgrade the Xbox. There would need to be games that REALLY take advantage of the new hardware.
Upgrading from the PS5 to the Pro version also doesnt make much sense (being able to sell your existing PS5 makes the prospect better).

Xbox 360 is the only one that lasted 8 years.
PS3, PS4, Xbox One lasted 7 years.
Wii lasted 6 years.
Wii U lasted 5 years.

Oooh now I’m wondering if I would keep the steam deck or jump ship. What I’m interested in is desktop mode. It would be nice to see if they have a full desktop side so that I can work on the go.

Prediction. It’s Valve that’s making this new Xbox handheld. With the option to install Steam OS.

I want an XBOX handheld that can run my games locally. No gamepass required. Streaming should be AN OPTION. Anything else is a cash grab wrapped in a nice package.
