the best way to save humanity is to send as much as we can from our nuclear arsenals to the moon and mars as energy sources for further colonization. translating weapons into wells. that way we can both get off this rock and have 100+ years of energy to get us through the transition

The best way is to review your own western countries’ policies in the middle east, and stop them pretending that they help to save eastern people from the dictatorships, they’re just intervening for more destruction and resources stealth instead of removing the dictators. ⛔

    • The Golden Squirrel

      May 5, 2023 at 6:41 pm

I completely agree with you, but those people you respect should be also in the west, western people should help other people in other parts of the world to stand against the policies of the western countries so that if they intervene politically, they should help in removing those dictatorships, and not preserving them and just nagging on media and steal oil. I respectfully invite you to read my comment, not just this reply to you. ⛔

    • The Golden Squirrel

      May 5, 2023 at 6:34 pm

You should also know the right side which decides what the definition of freedom is. The idea is that it’s not the west which decides what the freedom is. Also, most importantly, the west is the very first supporter of freedom suppression. If you ask why and how, you should know that the west itself is trying hard to maintain such regimes in Iran and other similar countries. Try to flick up the historical influence of the west in that part of the world for the last 5 decades at least, and you’ll definitely come to know what’s going on. ⛔

If you want to help Iranians please stop the sanctions that prevent Epidermolysis bullosa patients which are mostly kids from getting their medicine.

If you truly care about freedom, mind what’s happening in France and the brutality of the French police.

The people of iran have been living together side by side for thousands of years, they have overcome many hardships, this too shall pass.

    • Didier

      May 6, 2023 at 3:22 am

Medicines and food have never been the subject of international sanctions, including USA
You cannot compare the freedom of France and Iran and this is ridiculous. No one was killed in the protests in France.
and Iranian people have not passed thousands of years with just one government

    • The Honest Dude

      May 6, 2023 at 8:40 am

@Didier it has been, why do you lie ?
Iran buy most of its foreign medicine from black market or tunnel it through neighbouring countries through third parties because it cannot be sold to iranians directly
The buttrfly kids literally die everyday because iran cannot directly buy their required medical papers
I dislike people like you who repeat literal lies in comment sections
I have worked in the healthcare industry in iran and there is 100% a sanction on medicine and equipment.

As someone who likes humanity and is against cruelty I also want Iranians to protest against Khamanei and Soleimani for the systematic and ongoing genocide of Syrians, Turks, Iraqis, Kashmiris, Palestinians and Muslims of other countries. We all need to come together for a bigger solution. Just fighting for your freedom to dress the way you like alone is nothing. You need freedom and complete freedom for these evil and ignorant people ruling your country.

Heinously misleading. Yet unsurprising…Since TED has been owned by the greed-psychotic deepstate / wallstreet petrodollar cabal for a while now after all.

As an American citizen from birth I will still admit that it is the petrodollar’s sanctions, coups and neo-colonization that exacerbates scarcity based behaviors such as racism, religism, sexism, classism. Islam/Iran would change evermore into a pro-social force if it weren’t for the scarcity imposed on the mid east via petrodollar psyops, funding of known terrorist groups for the sake of coups, and hegemony funded propaganda.

The petrodollar elite are schizophrenically afraid of pro social movements such as socialism, etc. They thus slaughter it in its cradle wherever they find it ~ Iraq, Iran, Libya, Afghan, Syria, South America, South Africa and near all of the mid / east.

I assure you, that if you are pro-petrodollar in these debates that you have been deceived by your mother empire’s milk. Humanity evolved to serve tribe not to seek truth. This has been exploited by American elite to shape their citizenry into imperial zombies/slaves.

We must wake up to greedy / dominator hierarchies of all sort. Yes Islam can be that, but it is many lightyears less violent than the US’ dominator/hoarder hegemony.

Let us wake up to that we are one clade, one human family, unified by the universally emanate “golden rule” of every religion & spirituality.

I support Iranians who want to end cruelty and inhumanity. Sadly there is a large swath of Iranians in Iran who support this cruelty and “Marg Agahi” (genocide for the sake of death awareness) simply because they were told that this is Islam! The concept of “Velay-e-Faqih” makes the Iranian leader equivalent to God! Iranians need to understand that this concept is only unique to Iran and no other Muslim country or community believes or supports this concept of totalitarianism. This is categorically an Anti-Islamic philosophy. You can consult any Shia or Sunni cleric on this matter.

In a part of the United States with more than 17,000 years of human history, cultural preservation advocate Tracie Revis is working to turn the Ocmulgee Mounds into Georgia’s first national park and preserve. This park would be co-managed by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, bringing the tribal voice back to an area they were forcibly removed from 200 years ago. Revis explores the complex feelings of caring for this land and shows how it’s fostering healing in return.

Hundreds of millions of migrant workers travel within their countries to seek out means of survival — often leaving behind all they know for months or even years. Many face poverty and exploitation, and they need a robust social safety net to protect them, says migrant advocate and 2023 Audacious Project grantee Ashif Shaikh. He shares how his grassroots organization Migrants Resilience Collaborative is making life-changing benefits like social security and health care accessible to those who need them while also amplifying migrant voices — paving the way towards a world that supports the workers actually building it. (This ambitious idea is a part of the Audacious Project, TED’s initiative to inspire and fund global change.)
