   You can’t purify/filter open air like a controlled environment. The source of pollution will still be there and the active working radius of these is useless

   Great idea, but I don’t think using advertising as a solution for monetizing is good idea because people will think you are a scam who uses climate change to only reserve the best places to add banners.

    It is a biological process to remove the impurities (nutrients) from air. biological reaction rate is pretty slow. If there is no enough retention time in this “tree”, the removal efficiency would be low. Another thing I noticed is the air in and out too close. This will cause short circuit. I am curious about the removal efficiency.

    They’re just growing moss… No matter where the moss gross, be it in the ground, a wall, or in this wooden catastrophe, it will absorb the same amount of co2 per unit area. But in this case, now you have rotting wood, electronics, and the capacity of the system will fill up quickly. Not to mention nesting animals, weeding, the wasted water, and transport and application of nutrients. This is a head scratcher. Anyone that thinks more than 30 seconds about it’s feasibility and how it’s better than alternatives will not be interested.

    I guess this is some kind of proof of concept, so benefit of the doubt is granted. However, it seems like a solution to a problem that has a very simple and much more efficient solution called- an actual tree.

    couldn’t you better plant a tree. or simply not remove moss buildup in small shaded corners? not just spaghum also most hedera (climbing vine) species do the same thing whilst actually filtering out a lot of harmful toxins from the air. I prefer real plants that don’t need that much electronics to work.

    Its frame is wood from a tree that probably also houses moss effectively with zero manufacturing needed I’m not an expert but I find this a very roundabout and even counterintuitive way of basically transplanting trees into the city because manufacturing the thing will produce co2 so it feels like a retro futurism concept like if someone told you they could make a tree with technology inside to keep moss alive it would sound like some depiction of the year 2000 in an old magazine and the idea of adapting moss sounds very roundabout as well can’t they just propagate moss from high pollution which are definitely hardier in those environments from the get go
