Would love to see a comparison between QDOLED vs OLED TV (like LG C1)

@Michael Foster Exactly want the same here too

    • tracer073

      April 4, 2022 at 7:25 pm

Why compare to last year tv it should be compare to Sony qd oled, lg g2 and Sony a90j

    • Michael Foster

      @tracer073 I agree

    • Seth Misael Hernandez

      April 4, 2022 at 11:07 pm

      @GreenAppelPie Thats a lie. LG G2 Oled is not more affordable than the S95B. They’re priced Equally. 55inch & 65inch both $2199 & $2999 respectively.

    • Art Vandelay

      April 5, 2022 at 12:55 am

      Why… obviously this is superior

OK…. I wonder how I was able to distinguish the picture quality while viewing on my 720p Chromebook?

This really isn’t new technology, it’s it’s been in solar cells for years.

  6. Deenadayalan Govender

    April 4, 2022 at 4:03 pm

His comment on the price being equivalent to the LG G2 made me cry. $3000 is equivalent to the price of the LG C2 in South Africa. We are getting screwed with prices.

      April 4, 2022 at 9:12 pm

For sure other things are cheap there.. You cant have everything everywhere..

Honestly, I prefer TVs in the 32″ ~ 42″ size. Anything bigger is too big IMO.

      April 4, 2022 at 7:34 pm

Lmao I just got a Sony A80j last year, 55 inch for my small bedroom, I regretted it, I should have gotten the 65 inch

  8. Thomas Demayo

    April 4, 2022 at 4:27 pm

I love my LG 65 inch C1 I wonder how much better if at all is the Samsung QD OLED I don’t really need colors to pop anymore than what my C1 does but I’d love to get a bit better motion handling in fast paced movies and at least around 1000 bits of brightness vs 750 or so that my C1 has so I’d get a even better HDR experience in the end though I’m very happy with my C1 and probably won’t be upgrading until next year

    • Jay Roman

      April 4, 2022 at 4:55 pm

If that’s what you want, then try out the G2? It’s pushing 930 nits in filmmaker mode, which means it can definitely go brighter

    • Micker

      April 4, 2022 at 5:33 pm

@Jay Roman Yeah, the g2 definitely will be much brighter and a good upgrade to the C1, but if you just bought the C1, I would wait a couple years, kinda a waste now.

    • Jay Roman

      April 4, 2022 at 6:35 pm

@Micker fully agree. Might as well wait for LG to drop their own QD OLEDs which they’ll most likely hop on next year.

    April 4, 2022 at 5:05 pm

The lack of a One Connect box for the S95B is a bit of a shortcoming for those wanting to mount for a gallery orientation.

Nice to see the Frame getting some coverage… the lifestyle displays tend to get lost in the shootout shuffle.

  12. Micker

    April 4, 2022 at 5:31 pm

Man, this TV ships in less than 2 weeks and no one has gotten their hands on one to review it yet. Just seems odd, that the S95B has been in the Witness protection program for so long.

    • Michael Foster

      April 4, 2022 at 6:18 pm

That’s because in order to get you have to get it straight from Samsung , The high tv video store I go has been begging Samsung to just get one .

@Michael Foster The same applies to Best Buy. I went in there last Sunday and the Best Buy employee stated, if they to get any of these OLED Samsung television, it will be very few. That’s why I ordered it directly from Samsung.

    April 4, 2022 at 5:49 pm

In terms of brightness can the G2 compete against sony and samsung qd-oled?

    • Miguelangel Lehmann

      April 4, 2022 at 6:17 pm

no, it is oficial that G2 gets 874 nits… Sony and Samsung get around 1.000 nits even a bit more…

    • Andre Glueck

      April 4, 2022 at 8:46 pm

@Miguelangel Lehmann one review I watched said it hit 930 nits in filmmaker mode

    • Amirul Asyraf

@Andre Glueck if this is true on filmmaker mode. its phenomenal

You can guarantee Samsung will completely oversaturated all the colours, like they do with all their TV’s, basically the most unatural picture that you can buy…

    • NMEofdaST8

      April 4, 2022 at 7:23 pm

      u can calibrate them

    • tracer073

      April 4, 2022 at 7:30 pm

The average consumer like it that way, that’s why sell so much, average consumer like to see bright punchy images

    • Paul Shakeshaft

      April 4, 2022 at 9:55 pm

@tracer073 completely unrealistic colours, just like qled is….

    • Art Vandelay

      April 5, 2022 at 1:07 am

@Paul Shakeshaft Better then dead washed out LG…..
Samsung is the number 1 TV king company for sales for so many years….

    • Racineur R.

      April 5, 2022 at 4:01 am

@tracer073 Yes and they like to get blinded too isn’t it? This crazy run for the brightest than brightest screen is a joke. Remember when phone makers were battling for the slimmest phone? To the point of owners being able to bind them just by touching them? To the point that the batteries became so thin, the phones would not even last 3 hours (we’re still there battery talking). So where will this war on the eyesight will finish? If you say consumers like bright punchy colors, there is a limit to bright and punchy. I watch this video on 4k iMac. Watch at 0:47, the facade of the church is blown away. No details, not even sure of its color. White or tan or Yellowish? Then at 1:25, all the houses have blown away highlights and the trees are fluorescent green. I know what is bright but this isn’t. This is the contrary of crushed blacks. This blown highlights. OjK that can be adjusted but I liste to this Samsung salesman and for him that’s the most beautiful image in the world. Oh yeah, take it to a contest and we’ll see.

    • Paul Shakeshaft

      April 5, 2022 at 7:25 am

  29. mR poP sJon Popescu

white is 75% burnt which means it loses detail. The combination of LCD and Oled brings it more brightness, but that means compromising on detailing certain colors

  30. Neil Taylor

    April 5, 2022 at 6:50 am

It be interesting to see how the brightness compares to the new LG oled range

    • Dan Shimandle

Is this a true RGB OLED? 🤔

  32. TheKwod

    April 5, 2022 at 11:15 am

    Always pretending oled is king.
Actually it can struggle on peak brightness, HDR performance, dimming and possible abl dimming.
Black crush can also be a problem.

now is the moment of truth you always criticized LG for not giving warranty against burn in and you gave 10 years against burn in on Qled models. And now that Samsung will launch the Oled will it have a 10-year warranty against burn in ?????

    April 8, 2022 at 2:01 pm

i find it amusing how people do not understand and know the benefits of 8k upscaling and pixel pitch being twice as small than on a 4k tv. Looks like all these youtube channels are pushing 4k tv’s as they are told, marketing. I have last years 8k tv from samsung and it is a night/day difference even when upscaling 1080p content to 8k, people are so misinformed about 8k.
