12:10 why is there commentary at the end? That’s not how @TED works… get up on the stage with the speaker, or make a separate video. Mixing it into someone else’s talk is wrong!

I gave up on reddit during ‘The Donald’ and r/news being moderated by cranky conservative children.
To me, reddit is the website “By Kids For Kids!”.

Reddit builds community by banning until social cohesion.
    No thanks.

This is exactly why I love Reddit!

Yeah, I would love for reddit to be a place for humans, but unfortunately it has become increasingly filled with AI bots trying to steer public opinion on every topic under the sun. This is some real whitewashing from the CEO to try and steer the conversation into treating reddit as a space for humans rather than the reality that nearly every conversation on there is heavily manipulated by anonymous automated actors. Once you realize how cheap and easy it is to run these bots, you’ll see that there is a huge incentive for those with the knowhow to influence public opinion in their favor.

      it’s just old cringe now.

The 2023 Reddit API controversy was quickly forgotten

  10. @FranticAlligator

There’s so many reasons why reddits model for a “better internet” is flawed but alright.

How much did Reddit pay for this?

Better Internet? Reddit? The same place where nudity is thrown at kids with just an innocent search keyword? Sure, why not.

I used to love reddit years ago…I hate it now

  13. @oldretireddude

But Reddit is such a cesspool.

    Reddit is total GARBAGE

  16. @AdamKrzysztofPawlowski

    June 22, 2026 at 3:30 pm

Is that a joke? Reddit of all things? So better model for internet is to … censor 1/3rd of users in multiple forums because one-sided leftist reddit gods (mods)?

  17. @morallygray

    June 22, 2026 at 3:34 pm

Reddit allows the most vile content onto their site. The amount of subreddits that are just people getting off to abuse and violence.

Get rid of the social media giants like reddit, bring back IRC and message boards.

    • @TheTuubster

      June 22, 2026 at 5:45 pm

You mean the Usenet (IRC and Usenet actually still exist).

    • @nonnayerbusiness7704

      June 22, 2026 at 8:40 pm

@TheTuubster Usenet was a spam filled cesspit last time I checked, though, so presumably also filled with bots. An active, well moderated message board around a niche subject is the way to go. Unlike reddit, you have to have the interest before you find the message board, which tends to filter out the bots and extremist ideology pushing sock puppet accounts.

  20. @GrieverXVII

    June 22, 2026 at 4:40 pm

reddit is a borderline leftist extremist group at this point. people on there literally advocating for violence and death.. been on reddit over 13 years now and its nothing like it used to be. nothing.

the worat part is the upvote/downvote system, all it does is supress real discussion and create echo chambers. reddit is the worst.

The internet was 100% people before corporations and political parties moved in. And it was way more fun without them.

I miss the wild west of 2004 😢

  22. @SFB1985

    June 22, 2026 at 7:44 pm

The last thing I want is for anything in the world to be like reddit.

  23. @Aeonhem

    June 22, 2026 at 8:20 pm

Reddit used to be the front page of the internet. Now it’s a Mossad driven HEAVILY moderated hard left political black hole

  24. @Aeonhem

    June 22, 2026 at 8:22 pm

To be clear, my 8yr old account has been site wide banned for the comment “Isreal”. With the context being not negative. So… Everything this man has said is categorically incorrect.

How to Invite Creativity into Your Life | Rose B. Simpson, Debbie Millman | TED

What do you hear when you sit in silence? For artist Rose B. Simpson, that question is the beginning of all art. She comes from a line of ceramic artists stretching back generations and, as part of her multidisciplinary work, she also builds custom lowrider cars. (If that sounds like a contradiction, that’s kind of the point.) In conversation with “Design Matters” podcast host Debbie Millman, Simpson invites you to find your own aesthetic — not by searching, but by listening.
