LCD for in this price class!? Nope.
At least the screen is flat now…

    • PSYCHO

      August 20, 2021 at 12:29 am

As a hardcore OLED fan, LCD is a good option for people who don’t want any risk of burn-in. Even the Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are flagship phones with IPS LCD panels. Manufacturers should offer at least one flagship IPS LCD phone every year while most other models stick to AMOLED.

Options are good for consumers like the 11-inch Tab S7 being LCD but the 12.4-inch Tab S7+ being AMOLED.

This is disappointing. In India Moto has just released Edge 20 with 778g processor, 144Hz amoled display with 576 Hz touch sampling rate. 108mp, 16mp wide macro, 8mp 3x telephoto, 32mp front cam, 163gm weight 6.99mm thickness (slimmest and lightest 5g phone in India) at just around 400 USD.

    • Kyreem

      August 20, 2021 at 12:41 am

@Michael A Whaaaat?? Damn.. that’s sad. I got extremely lucky with my Samsung S20 FE. Got it on sale and it has a lot of flagship features you expect. At $700 dual speakers should be the absolute bare minimum. NFC, 128 gb of storage, OLED screen, water and dust resistant, HDR, and at least a decent processor should be expected.

No, I wouldn’t buy this. And here’s why; Bezos Renewed and Bezos Renewed Premium. Even for the reduced $500 price tag, you can get a Galaxy, One Plus or iPhone from the last two years models, plus 3 months to 1 year return guarantees. A phone in the super hot mid-range market would have to be very special, for instance, the Pixel 4a from last year. Moto will follow LG unless they do something out of this world.

I mainly look at screen size/dimensions, battery size and loud duel speakers. It passes the first two, the wider screen is good but it fails on the speakers. I want to be able listen to audio from the phone in my car, around the house whilst working so powerful speakers have been on the top of my list for a long time.

i don’t trust these oems. it’s either samsung or google; i will consider other oems if i am buying it as a gift for someone. my pixel 4a 5G still works great. waiting to upgrade to the pixel 7A unless the 6A is a significant upgrade to the 4A 5G. my cutoff for phone price is $600. i can afford a premium $1k+ but the way i will use the phone will not change so why waste money lol.

In India, if you’re a smartphone poweruser 5000mah is like hot cakes, the user discharges it in a day and the half.

In Other western countries, most of the users will use 5000mah for 2 days

      August 21, 2021 at 12:19 pm

That’s because india uses phone a lot than others and Indians do useless stuff like Instagram reels(clone tik tok),playing games,WhatsApp,snapchat and watching useless Bollywood songs ,films and web series instead of watching educational documentaries and useful videos in yt

I’m kind of excited! I purchased the edge 2020 and didn’t like the edges. It was cumbersome hard to learn and hard to stay where you were. I’m a long-term Motorola user going all the way back to the original Droid. The only thing I didn’t like about the original edge was that edge.

    • Augusto Lugo

      August 22, 2021 at 6:20 pm

I returned mine and bought me a Galaxy A 51 5G that has a better screen and better camera, loved the spec sheet, the reality of it was a big disappointment.

    • Mitzi Sells

      August 23, 2021 at 8:30 pm

@Augusto Lugo I returned my edge too, got a Samsung s21 but I am not impressed. I want a Motorola!

    • Steven Riendeau

      August 23, 2021 at 8:39 pm

Ultimately Motorola is my favorite phones. I’ve purchased the pixel, the LG’s, the Samsung’s and I’m always disappointed. It might be just a little things but try to chop chop with a Samsung to get your flashlight to turn on. The simple operating system makes life easy and uncomplicated. The edge 2020 would have been a great phone except for the edge. The 2021 I think we’ll fix that problem. Can’t wait to get mine, pre-ordered today.

Does Ready For still work over a Type C to HDMI direct to a monitor, or is it just wireless now?

  53. talldude123

    August 21, 2021 at 3:52 pm

I have the Motorola Edge+, honestly, it’s not too bad. Camera could be better, it doesn’t have the detail of the Samsung or iPhone… however it is basically stock Android, and the battery lasts ALL DAY, no matter what you’re doing. The Android 11 software update removed the option to reduce refresh rate though, so it’s always at 90hz.

I’ve been using Motorola phones for years $500 would be the max amount I’d be willing to pay. We know how much we need phones but Come on 700 is too much for not having wireless charging, 5000 mAh battery and max ram

But where can I get a phone with enough RAM? My Samsung Galaxy S3 had 32gb my S4 has only 8gb and it’s all but unusable for me. Maybe I can get by wirh 16 or 24gb but the manufacturers are going lower not higher. We’re getting charged like they have a reasonable amount of app memory but they don’t.
