If you’re going 65 inch Samsung is a no brainer, it blows them all out of the water. Even makes the A90J look bad in certain scenes.

      @Y Y yes I meant the S95B

Their lack of Dolby Vision in turn blows Samsung out of the water.

Lmao blows them out of the water. Hahahah The g2 is neck and neck with the hyped up Samsung. I have both. Def holds its own and doesn’t “destroy” oled like the hypebeast are claiming. Don’t get sucked into the hype. Remember when y’all said that about lcd when oled came out? Don’t be one of those guys. We have enough followers in this world

Don’t bother with it, in Digital Foundry’s latest podcast it has major latency issues and you have to reset the firmware to fix it constantly

    • Daedalus

      April 23, 2022 at 2:11 pm

I own the C1, and I can tell you one thing. LG TV’s have fantastic update support. So I’m sure LG will patch whatever issues the C2 may or may not have.

    • ZGadgetReview

      April 23, 2022 at 4:13 pm

If anything can be said about LG, is that they support their TVs with firmware updates for years.

  6. GreekSamurai

    April 23, 2022 at 1:32 pm

All reviews of premium TVs have to be vis-a-vis the S95b and A95k. I think the 65 inch C2 is a great option at $1,600 to $1,800 once they fix the latency issue. My biggest gripe is the blurry effect it has. It’s like a dirty window that you cannot clean compared to Sonys. But Sonys have ASBL issues…

    • HästenS avoir

      April 23, 2022 at 1:40 pm

No one talking about LZ2000 anymore

    • GreekSamurai

      April 23, 2022 at 1:49 pm

@HästenS avoir yeah or the Sony X95k that we’ve all been waiting to see as an alternative to OLED. Very disappointed by the new EVO panels’ lack of brightness. We all expected 20% more brightness but we got 50% weight loss instead.

I think we would have all have taken the 20% brightness 🙂 It’s not like the TVs were that heavy before. Now they are just way too light. I lift a 35lb kettlebell for nearly an hour with 1 arm when I train… Now I’m worried that this TV might fall over when my air conditioning kicks in:-)

    • HästenS avoir

      April 23, 2022 at 1:55 pm

@GreekSamurai True!!! The Backlight master drive tech that is even improved with better motion, upscaling and viewing angles etc. from the most loved Z9D suddenly becomes obsolete. At least Samsung QLEDs are always in discussion!

Philips are also very underrated, possibly as good or even better than LG.

    • GreekSamurai

      April 23, 2022 at 2:17 pm

@HästenS avoir Yeah, we sadly don’t get Philips or Panasonic TVs in the States but at least we do get lower prices.

Yes, I’m curious to see how the X95K compares to the Z9D and Z9J. Sony has been so quiet. We should start seeing their panels arrive in a week or two.

Philips is developing a very interesting means of pixel refresh to reduce burn-in but QD OLED could render that obsolete as well. I love the B&W soundbars on the Philips TVs.

Panasonic was the first manufacturer to introduce heatsinks so they deserve credit for many of the upgrades we’ve seen up until now.

    • Christian Marmol

      April 23, 2022 at 6:23 pm

@GreekSamurai not all of us and they said before it came out it was going to be 10 to 20 percent and there is at least a 10 percent from what I’ve seen and c2 looks more clear and clean looking. Plus better color which is important too

  7. Wallace Rigby

    April 23, 2022 at 1:35 pm

DO NOT BUY IT! Get last years C1 or G1. You can even see the pink in this video!

  8. TechAndy

Buy the C1 over the C2 in 2022 it’s worth it for the price

Still no Dolby Vision support. Hard pass.

    • TechAndy

      April 23, 2022 at 7:46 pm

@Classic Galactica Dolby Vision is just marketing…HDR10+ do the same thing DV does

QD OLED has better colours/brightness and high dynamic range(HDR) than LG OLED and it even beats out the Sony A90j the TV from last years tht cost $1000+ more and has heat sink and stuff

LG OLED just CANT compete with the new Technology(QD OLED)Dolby Vision is a good software but it’s on a Poor OLED…

Lets see wt Sony A95k with QD OLED tht support Dolby Vision will bring any diff

@Smoking with Phats. You just copied and pasted this from another post… I think this all🧢. I’ve had a C1. There is video on my channel to prove it. It was way too dim for me especially in HDR. The C2 isn’t much brighter than the C1. And the G2 is marginally brighter than the C2. Your opinion doesn’t add up. So please show us some proof with a video side by side.

    • ZGadgetReview

      April 23, 2022 at 4:18 pm

      But it’s missing Dolby vision

    • Simon czesak

@ZGadgetReview I have a ks9000 and a Sony oled. Trust me HDR looks better then dolby vision oled. Brightness is so crucial.

    • therider04

      April 23, 2022 at 6:19 pm

  15. reviewforthetube

    April 23, 2022 at 4:35 pm

Yeah I think it’s weird af that the g2 is measuring so high yet when side by side in content the c2 ans g2 look absolutely identical. I want to know how tf rtings got 1200nit readings when everyone else is getting 860 to 900 nits. One person got 950 that was at its absolutely max and only on 2 percent. So yesh something seems to be off with there meter. First last yesr measurments were slightly low so I think they are calibrating there meter wrong just something to keep in mind. You won’t see 1200 nits in content lol

    • Jean Mendez

samsungs UI is just as cluttered as LGs now. the s95b is annoying the ui because when you login the stupid movies/ads refresh. it feels quite laggy. Unfortunately, i dont see any manufacturer moving away from this as i assume this gives them extra revenue.

Do Letterbox bars cause burn in?

    • maxden80

      April 23, 2022 at 7:39 pm

No. In fact, years down the road the area where the letterbox bars are will appear brighter from not being illuminated. OLED TVs technically don’t have burn in. The brightness of the pixels gets lower over time with accumulated use. We are talking thousands and thousands of hours though. I have a B6 from 2016 and a C8 from 2018 and have had 0 issues. Have watched thousands of hours of letterbox movies and also thousands of hours of gaming and both panels are still clean when I run color slides

  20. Mark Rickan

    April 23, 2022 at 6:08 pm

The C2 appears to be the safe pick for 2022 but the consensus so far has been that the S95B (and presumably the A95K) QD OLED offers a significant improvement. Looking forward to seeing these displays go head-to-head.

@Smoking with Phats. gonna get the G2, Test results from rtings are amazing. coming from a 2019 philips oled tv and had the sony a90j for 2 weeks but returned it because of extreme dimming while gaming. the brightness during movies was amazing though and the G2 will be even brighter. cant wait😊

    • falsehope

    • Jero Me

      April 23, 2022 at 10:25 pm

I agree . I hate those remote that has less button, yes they look better but for me its not that useful LG remote are very easy to use specially for those countries that do not use set-top-box for their cables. LG remote also works better as universal remote if you have a set-top-box connected becauae of those number buttons

    • Obi Dean

      April 24, 2022 at 9:59 am

I get that but at very least they should renew the design, it looks so archaic compared to other brands TV. Maybe make it in other than black color would be a start …

Why would you use a other streamer and use a second remote? Now I’m getting that the Xbox is the fastest streamer there is, and if you’re a gamer and tired of gaming it makes a lot of sense to use youre Xbox…..
But…but…only google supports there remote as mainr emote isn’t it? I mean my lg TV supports nothing except for Netflix still and a other movie thing that’s almost impossible to use , even if it has 20 free movies….but it was thinner and had cinema 3d at that time….
However my life went different and I would prefer a other operating systems like lg web Os the other had so that I would still have use in this life for my TV….
Nothing worse then chromecasting or phone use instead of just using the TV to click….
In a other life this TV would be the good choice and it would be my Second screen on a lg wide screen with a small 3d collection above it between a Bobby fett book stand and a Xbox……in a other life a normal life.
Only way this way it’s useble if you put a wifi, switch on it….and put it on chromcast and use Okey google to control youre TV but it’s pretty hard that way to get the right image.
I hate second remotes….I really do

Shame they destroyed the original magic remote with only 5 buttons and a scroll wheel , the original magic remote was quite incredible and my prevered remote for every TV just because….a kidd can do the trick. They now mixed the classic with the other 😂Lol
Funny thing is, that if you use it for gaming and have like a special hobby 3d collection that you can love a product, while if you have only a TV for watching only the software matters for putting things on and the functions and desires chances very big from useless to prefect and vice versa.Hate it or love it, a store with sales or not, ghetto or RgB , 3d Predator or Cooking with Ro😉

I was thrilled too when I first got my LG Oled 65E7P but within 3 years of normal TV viewing the picture has degraded dramatically with color shading all over and burn in. LG claims 40k hours of life but I’m less than 1/4 of the way there and the TV is shot.

  28. rd3324

    April 24, 2022 at 1:55 am

So I’m over 2 years in with my 65″ CX. Not anxious to “upgrade”. There doesn’t seem to be a compelling reason to do so. I watch mainly at night in a dark room and the very brightest settings are way bright, too much so really, and the picture quality is excellent. It seems you have to have sophisticated measuring equipment to tell the difference is various models. I think I’m gonna sit tight for now.

Lol @ preferring the Roku UI or laggy Tizen. The LG is cluttered sure, but it’s not painfully slow like Tizen or looks like it was made a decade ago like Roku. I’d take the LG any day. Ideally, they’d just use Google TV like Sony.

    April 24, 2022 at 10:08 am

Since the current gen consoles can’t do both 120fps and 4K at the same time, is HDMI 2.1 really all that necessary? It’s nice to have but I keep hearing the PS5. , Xbox Series X talk when it comes to HDMI 2.1 but no one ever says if it’s necessary. I know the bandwidth is necessary for both 4k 120hz but what happens when it’s 1 and not both?

    • Terra Nigma

      April 24, 2022 at 7:21 pm

They drop the internal resolution when doing 120hz mode but the output is still 4K (upscaled/reconstructed) so I’d say that 2.1 is necessary but it’s not anything I’ve tested nor am I a professional in this field.

    • Hugo Gerardo Farías Tovar

      April 25, 2022 at 3:19 pm

Yes, they do both 120 fps and 4k at the same time. PS5 and Xbox Series X do (the Xbox Series S can’t, it is bounded to 1440p and 120 fps). If you add in that the Series X has Dolby Vision support, well… that extra bandwidth is sure needed.

    • Maxx Koggen

@Hugo Gerardo Farías Tovar Most games drop to 2k quality for 120

    • Hugo Gerardo Farías Tovar

      April 28, 2022 at 6:07 am

@MarcoGamer640 yeah.. game must be optimized or marked as next gen ready. But still, it is down to the developers to bring support. The hardware is capable of doing it, maybe it downs the render resolution to 1440p and then upscales it but the output is still 4k 120 fps. I have a C1 and the series X and it does look like 4k to me. Plus, you have an fps counter on the TV and that one says 119 fps on the game.

  34. Danny Ng

Only if you game. It’s dims considerably when it detects huds and you can’t turn it off.

Obviously Katz hasn’t experienced the 2022 Tizen OS and obviously hasn’t paid any attention to the S95B buzz. The later being a good thing as it’s best to have an open mind if he ever gets around to reviewing it.

Contrast is King. OLEDs perfect blacks are certainly the best in picture quality.
Three USB-A 2.0 ports. It’s 2022 why cant we get TVs with USB C? and WiFi 6/Bluetooth 5.3? Especially on these new TVs costing thousands of dollars.

pros: lighter weight, smaller centered stand, improved modern design, first TV I’ve seen with a “NextGen TV” ATSC 3.0 tuner, built-in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa
cons: no audio out headphone jack, that dumb Wii style magic remote and LG’s fugly “webOS”. No HDR10+ support. Expensive

I’m sort of new to TV specs. Can someone explain to me the need in getting a streaming device on these smart TVs? It already has all the apps built in, what’s the need?

      April 27, 2022 at 1:05 am

You really don’t need a other streaming device, it’s just a question of preference .

What’s the point buying lg oled with its rip-off price very expensive. While Hisense Oled 65 inch model A8H is so much cheaper with better picture quality hen lg and its comes with IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, HDR 10, HLG, and HDR 10+ etc………
