Too bad they didn’t know a S26 Ultra exists, it would’ve taken better pictures, every aspect would be better. But, what can you expect … they only know the iphone, trapped in that ecosystem. Can’t even put a random song you download from the internet or receive from a friend as a ringtone. Bleah!!

Apple devices were tested in Earth most extreme conditions and are officially space-proof since years.
@pulixpulix2420
April 10, 2026 at 1:54 pm
@A-OnymYeah, of course they were chosen because of those arguments, not the factc that the astronauts just had them as their personal devices. NASA decided that Apple iphone 17 pro max will handle the tough conditions of … the space. Isn’t it?
@A-Onym
April 10, 2026 at 3:04 pm
@pulixpulix2420 So you don’t believe NASA performed targeted tests on iPhone 4s back then ,and more recently on iPads for space conditions?
Moreover some crew members wore Apple Watch Series 6 devices in previous flights. The watches gathered research-grade data on heart rhythm, oxygen levels, sleep, and movement.

glass is laminated, so the risk of shards flying around is minimal. i’d be interested to know if they had a concern about the battery expansion during charging

Now I’m thinking about if Apple and even Nutella have already made appearances in space. So what happens when more brands want in? Imagine companies lining up to send their products beyond Earth. NASA might not need to rely so heavily on federal funding to stay put. Don’t underestimate corporate America their money is limitless.

I just watch the current episode of Apple’s series “For All Mankind “. It featured a chunky iPhone that look like a bigger version of the iPhone X. The season takes place in 2012. Guess what the iPhone had no notch!

iPhone 17s have probably the best Selfie camera i’ve ever tried. I tried it in stores and the quality is crystal clear, and looks the same as an actual mirror. Apple has been on fire lately🔥

It took a space mission to take a photo of the moon from an iPhone
but with the Samsung phone you can do it from earth 😂
