Just tell the truth. When the numbers started being fudged and the science became provably sloppy, this important issue took a big credibility hit.

    • @remyllebeau77

      July 25, 2025 at 1:58 pm

You mean the issue championed by eugenicists took a credibility hit? Say it isn’t so!

For the second year in a row, we’re having a cooler than usual summer here in Texas. Everyone knows the climate changes. Trying to prove it’s caused by humans is another story.

    • @Acemeistre

      July 25, 2025 at 2:14 pm

It’s already been proven and is no longer up for debate.

The question now is how fast will we move to take action.

    • @julianshepherd2038

      July 25, 2025 at 2:37 pm

Two summers in one place is weather.
It’s been shown but your state has oil so you deny it.

    • @thinkabout602

      July 25, 2025 at 2:38 pm

There will be dryer and wetter areas and cooler and hotter areas at a much faster pace than usual, that’s why it’s called CC. In fact CC is going exponential now. Please do more research before you decide this is no problem. Humans are causing much higher amounts of CO2 amd methane which changes the suns rays to reflect back on Earth. It’s like when you come back to your car on a sunny day and its very hot inside.

Reducing what carbon we emit, not reducing it out of the atmosphere.

      Learn the difference.

When you’re doing this TED talk I really don’t know how TED talks work, but are you speaking to the 30% that support you 30% middleground that are questionable or the 30% that are will never agree with you. So the 30% support you are loving and agreeing to what you’re saying and saying we have to do more the 30% in the middle. Some of them are listening to you and some of them are not blah blah blah and then you have the 30% that say climate change is fake. You have no real concrete proof.

In my opinion, you were talking to people who believe you are open to believe you . I feel you dodged the issue about people who say over the entire planet of the Earth. It’s gotten warmer. It’s gotten colder. It’s gotten warmer. It’s gotten colder. It’s gone through cycles, connecting the dots and doing little stories to connect it to global warming like breadcrumbs and Hansel and Gretel work for some people But for 35% if not more it’ll never work and because again climate is fake climate change is fake. It’s getting warmer and they will say it’s getting warmer because of the ups and downs and spikes. I would’ve loved to hear how you deal with that because again of the 30% that don’t believe in climate change. I would even say a lot of them do believe it’s getting warmer and millions of years ago it got warmer than then got colder than got warmer.

  5. @RJ420NL

    July 25, 2025 at 3:11 pm

The main issue with climate change “news” is it’s missing the core cause of climate change. The core cause of the climate crisis is human overpopulation. If there were less people, then there would be less of everything bad for the climate, e.g. fossil fuel and plastic. Human overpopulation is the core cause of the climate crisis. Very few people will admit this, especially those who get paid because of climate change.

  6. @LevitateMediaVideo

    July 25, 2025 at 3:15 pm

Love this reminder from Katherine Dunn: people don’t connect with crisis, they connect with what they care about. Stories about climate can (and should) show up in our everyday passions. A mango. A match. A paycheck. That’s where real change starts. 🌱

News about climate change needs to be connected with the increasing concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gases. The context is a structure of power that concentrates too much power in the hands of too few people. The COPs are a farce. It’s time to build a global platform for digital democracy so we can vote for principles and policies instead of personalities and political parties.

Just an elementary take on this, but just look at a graph depicting the world population over the decades, or even better over the centuries… one look at it tells me that we can take all the climate action we want, but unless the world collectively acts on population control, which no one is talking about, it will be like throwing a pebble at a freight train.

  58. @OldScientist

    July 28, 2025 at 4:01 pm

And that’s what they are – stories.
There is no objective observational evidence that we are living in a global climate crisis.
Even the biased UN’s IPCC AR6 WG1 (Sixth Assessment Report, The Physical Science Basis, The Working Group 1 contribution), chapter 12 “Climate Change Information for Regional Impact and for Risk Assessment”, page 1856,  section 12.5.2, table 12.12 confirms there is a lack of evidence or no signal that the following have changed:
    Air Pollution Weather (temperature inversions),
    Aridity,
    Avalanche (snow),
    Mean precipitation,
    Average Wind Speed,
    Coastal Flood,
    Agricultural drought,
    Hydrological drought,
    Erosion of Coastlines,
    Fire Weather (hot and windy),
Flooding From Heavy Rain (pluvial floods),
    Frost,
    Hail,
    Heavy Rain,
    Heavy Snowfall and Ice Storms,
    Landslides,
    Marine Heatwaves,
    Ocean Acidity,
    Radiation at the Earth’s Surface,
    River/Lake Floods,
    Sand and Dust Storms,
    Sea Level,
    Severe Wind Storms,
    Snow, Glacier, and Ice Sheets,
    Antarctic Sea Ice,
    Tropical Cyclones.
