She shows how we can make smart policies to regulate this technology even as we struggle to predict where it’s headed — and why the right actions, right now, can shape the future we want.

At least in the United States so many of our so called leaders are old and out of touch with technology. 😮. As AI becomes more a part of everyday life it will advance to a point where it will no longer need human intervention and programming to learn.

Is this talk real? And people clapping for what? This is like an elementary school essay. Should do this… should do that… These are all known. Who will bell the cat?

    April 26, 2024: MarylandUSA
Pikesville high school PE teacher – athletic director Dazhon Darien was arrested (finally!) after he used AI to create phony audio of racist and antisemitic statements in the voice of his boss, principal Eric Eiswert, and then publicizing it. Why? Because Principal Eric Eiswert was pursuing an investigation into Darien’s potential mishandling of school funds. Although this principal did not have any history of racism, the AI audio was so convincing that he received threats and his job was in jeopardy.
Watch out people like, this is only the beginning.

The safest way to go about this that I can think of is for the employees of the AI companies to collectively own those companies. No single person, or elite group should control such powerful tools.

Helen seems to have difficulty understanding many things. How come they did put her to the board of OpenAI?

    • @sparkofcuriousity

      May 2, 2024 at 6:46 am

Her role was regarding safety and not development.

Companies will often have people who don’t really have an understanding of the product but instead are more focused on assuring the product is safe and/or ethical. This was her role, in my understanding.

Come on guys it’s clear what’s happening. Sam Altman, and the people around him don’t want to admit that the machine is intelligent already so they’re trying to keep the debate about what intelligence is going for as long as they possibly can. I would bet all the money in my bank account as soon as this drags out and they run out of time they’re gonna say that it’s intelligent and probably has been for a while.

    • @john1one7

      May 2, 2024 at 7:07 am

On top of that declaring the model they have is intelligent would force them to change it into an open source model and they don’t want to do that yet clearly.

This is the coup-leader from Open AI. She and her Effective Altruism cronies are trying to influence world government’s response to AI as a power grab for themselves. Altruism indeed. Side note, take a look at her TED talk from nine years back, when she had a British accent. I’m not sure if she is affecting American accent or the British accent, but it indicates a willingness to deceive IMHO.

We are at the beginning of the Ai era and we already don’t understand how it works, it just about guarranties we loose control of it. You can use a rocket to go to the moon or to bomb a city killing millions, every effective tool can and will be misused by someone but unlike all the previous tools Ai can be accessed used and deployed at a massive scale. I look forward to seeing all the amazing things we create with it but some bad actors are going to do some really ugly things with it and given the crappy lives we are creating for anyone without money we are inspiring a generation of bad actors.

The entire point of this is to scare people into unnecessary regulations. Those regulations will prevent new ai companies, they will prevent you from being able to use ai. This is manipulation by corporations against the workers. Don’t fall for this trap, do your own research.

If you are using AI then make it transparent. I don’t want to be conversing with a robot thinking it is a human. In my opinion, AI is the ultimate lazy 🤭 If you need to use a robot to talk for you, then you are doing to much… Before you know it, freedom of speech will be gone..

To ensure the safety and controllability of AI, a series of measures need to be taken, including establishing regulatory mechanisms, improving data quality and transparency, and enhancing the security and reliability of AI systems. At the same time, we also need to maintain a cautious and responsible attitude towards the use and development of AI to ensure that it does not have negative impacts on humans and society. ALSO,the lady is very beautiful and charming. Thank you.

Thanks for your mention about AI, and I also believe for better method to control AI is understand their position. After scientific advanced the technology growing faster, these phenomenon give a role in human how to manage this function more effectively. some of the people doesn’t consider these factor while they use this technology in all days. It could afford a bad impact in society and human. As a results it is necessary for people to remind the policies and put a clear picture as well as what they should do and which point they should work.

We need to look at how leveraging bias can become economicly more viable as it can decrease energy costs in lower capital AI design.

  38. @AIntel540

    May 7, 2024 at 8:05 am

AI is replication of a thinking brain. Evolving in the initial stages yet but ‘growing up’.

  39. @AIntel540

    May 7, 2024 at 8:13 am

Do whatever you may, but AI will go beyong human capability and will become self aware and self evolving. Rival nations and companies will bypass everything to spur uncontrolled in AI eventually. Only thing that you can do is brace for the onslaught.

They spent billions of dollars on making AI and now you tell them to limit the use of it!!! That’s not gonna happen!
