Does installing the beta factory reset your device or is it like installing an update?

    • @norskluna

      July 13, 2026 at 7:22 am

Update- but if you want to go back, it is like a factory reset.

    • @Slush23

      July 13, 2026 at 2:42 pm

@norskluna doing just a factory reset does not restore your phone to iOS 26 first you have to Restore your iPhone from a computer, download the IPSW file for 26 then install the IPSW file to your phone to restore it to iOS 26, and then you use your iCloud or computer to put everything back on it from your iCloud or the computer

27 beta is better than current 26. It’s better performing and more stable imo

My iPhone 13 Battery already puckedup with the last update i think this update will make sure it will be gone 100% so i can spend some more money on the battery to keep Apple revenue steady

pretty sure your $100 battery replacement isnt doing all that much to fund apple

I really like this format! Having one presenter explain the steps while another demonstrates them is a clever idea. It’d be great to see more videos like this. I think a lot of people have their favorite presenters, so mixing them up like this is a fun way to feature more of the team, even if one of them isn’t speaking.

  13. @muscy2637

    July 13, 2026 at 10:31 am

You CAN downgrade iOS 27 beta by downloading an iOS 26 ipsw file for your device and also having your iOS 26 backup ready so that way you can restore back to it. For this, you will need to have a Mac or Windows computer on hand to be able to connect your device to downgrade if you so choose.

iOS 26.5.2 is such a mess I am desperate and that’s on iphone 17 pro max

  15. @tattooedchick24

    July 13, 2026 at 1:19 pm

I have 27 developer beta. Been installed since it came out. Only issue I have is the HomePod can no longer turn off sleep focus alarms( like when I wake up).

  16. @Slush23

    July 13, 2026 at 2:39 pm

What you’re stating is completely false. If you’re on iOS 27 developer beta, you can absolutely downgrade back to iOS 26. Where do you get that you cannot downgrade? The only product that you can’t downgrade is the Apple Watch. You have to take it to Apple for them to do it.

  17. @TheDrewMaican

    July 13, 2026 at 2:46 pm

You may not be able to uninstall it but you can overwrite it with the released version.

So, you’re saying developers walk while testing? If he fell, would he get “backup” and keep walking?

  20. @jeepoffroad

    July 13, 2026 at 6:26 pm

Betas can be uninstalled. I did it on mine 2 weeks ago.

  21. @parthaadhikary6996

Those who are using ios 27 on their primary device since developer beta 1 🗿

  22. @HeatProofBog64

    July 14, 2026 at 5:58 pm

Public beta dropped before you released this, and you’ve never been able to downgrade without a reset, nobody thinks you can
