When catastrophe strikes, art prevails — and has done so for centuries. In this fascinating talk, writer and director Cara Greene Epstein places the closing of theaters during the coronavirus pandemic in a historical context, exploring how we can use this intermission to imagine a more just, representative and beautiful world, onstage and off.

Gag me with a spoon. We’ll all be better off if Hollywood and Broadway never make another movie or play.

If you do theater over skype and stream it on youtube, is it still theater?

Why is it that something might be so fascinating and a “good idea” must also be kept protected like it’s so fragile?

The fact that you went into a different and unrelated video’s comment section to complain about it might be a clue…

3:12. So I am 22, white, and act. So you used the most ironic place for the American Dream and pass time to tell me this? To get woke about the nightmare you see fit? Lady you scare me cus I almost got my bike stolen cus I “was white” that really what the guy said. I think the only thing plague that is in America is your fault ideals that America was born into Racism. That stadium you are doing your talk in was build with blood sweat and tears done by people who gave up their family lives to work so it last. And now in 2021 you rather say this nation is Racist even after the ALL the work generations did before you did so you can live in nation like ours. You wanna be talking about Racist nations talk about China. They have laws on how many kids a woman have, and also on who is superior to anyone. Or places in the Middle East were they stone or burn gays, bi-sexuals, trans, and lesbians at the stake. They don’t even let women drive cars. You live here and you keep your “racist” American Nightmare away from my generation. I’ve seen it destroy Seattle in 2020 and my city of Cleveland in 1966. We live in a nation were it’s not utopia, or socialist, but a GOOD nation. Good and bad is everywhere you go not jut in White People-opolis i mean America.

The reasons the racial is still considered, is because we’re, not believing ourselves %100 and as long as we ask the question , when we wanted to filling a form , what’s your race , religions, gender, nationality, etc……this question still remind us why we are different!

When your government gives $500 million to keep failing businesses alive of course they’re going out live the pandemic. Meanwhile the Democrats lied about a $2,000 check because that was too much money.

In a part of the United States with more than 17,000 years of human history, cultural preservation advocate Tracie Revis is working to turn the Ocmulgee Mounds into Georgia’s first national park and preserve. This park would be co-managed by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, bringing the tribal voice back to an area they were forcibly removed from 200 years ago. Revis explores the complex feelings of caring for this land and shows how it’s fostering healing in return.

Hundreds of millions of migrant workers travel within their countries to seek out means of survival — often leaving behind all they know for months or even years. Many face poverty and exploitation, and they need a robust social safety net to protect them, says migrant advocate and 2023 Audacious Project grantee Ashif Shaikh. He shares how his grassroots organization Migrants Resilience Collaborative is making life-changing benefits like social security and health care accessible to those who need them while also amplifying migrant voices — paving the way towards a world that supports the workers actually building it. (This ambitious idea is a part of the Audacious Project, TED’s initiative to inspire and fund global change.)
