How I learned to stop worrying about the $400 Moto G Stylus 5G

At $400, Motorola’s Moto G Stylus 5G is the company’s most affordable 5G phone in the US next to the Motorola One 5G Ace. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because the Moto G Stylus debuted in 2020 with a follow-up version released in January. But this isn’t just the 2021 Moto G Stylus with…

At $400, Motorola’s Moto G Stylus 5G is the company’s most affordable 5G phone in the US next to the Motorola One 5G Ace. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because the Moto G Stylus debuted in 2020 with a follow-up version released in January. But this isn’t just the 2021 Moto G Stylus with 5G added. It has a redesigned stylus, comes with a different processor, has more RAM and more storage. With a rear fingerprint reader and a square camera bump, the Moto G Stylus 5G also draws inspiration from the $400 One 5G Ace.

This was great. I am not even interested in the phone. This video just was up next and it played. Because the reviewer was funny, I let it played. He so needs to do more reviews. Great job.

I got the Moto Stylus 2020 model, not because of the stylus, but because it had some of the best specs for the price when I bought it. I barely ever use the stylus.

I like unique hardware in general but the execution here fails. This looks no different than buying any off the shelf nonactive stylus. Latency looks terrible.

I would want to see other features that justify having a separate accessory, like what Samsung does (did). Even LG (RIP) allowed active stylus features on the V60 and Velvet.

Clearly we need longer than a week for a proper review.
What can we actually do with our powerful pocket computer?
Or did you not use the phone?

Wasted opportunity on the video call. You could have used the phone U are reviewing to make the call.
Lexie could have used Google Duo as that video call app comes installed in Android phones.

CNET…need to do some justice to reviews… I have a 2020 Moto G stylus and that’s one of the slowest phones I have ever used… It’s was fine for first 3 months ..then almost every app is slow and the switching multi tasking etc are pretty glitchy…. Not to mention a simple phone restart takes several minutes…. I would not recommend Motorola G stylus to anyone… I used a Google pixel 3 prior to this.. but as it’s said ..you get what you pay for….

I still have the o.g. (2020) Motorola G Stylus [I chose that vs the 2020 Motorola G Power because it had better specs] updated with Android OS 11 [April 2021] using the Stylus 1/3 of the time. I like it’s black on blue purple back (looks great with a clear case).

I saw some improvements with the Stylus &: it’s Menu to the (2021) Motorola G Stylus, but I didn’t update (like the 2020 version it came with Android OS 10 out of the box, it’s also missing the Dolby Audio from the o.g., the screen size went from 6.5″ to 6.8″)

There are 2 versions of the (2021) Motorola G Stylus 5G that will be available –

    Unlocked ($400) – 6Gig RAM / 256Gig.ROM

    Carriers ($300).- 4Gig RAM / 128Gig ROM

Both will have a 5000 mAh battery (larger than the 4000 mAh battery from the (2020) version). No NFC (Motorola One Ace 5G has NFC but it only comes with one update for Android OS 11), Motorola G Stylus 5G will have an update for Android OS 12. Do your homework and decide for yourself, I’m happy with my (2020) Motorola G Stylus on a 4G LTE but I could upgrade to the (2021) Motorola G Stylus 5G for a good discount (I like its back colour and think it will look cool with a clear case).

I have a Moto g stylus 2020 and it’s a nice phone I like it I didn’t get it because it had a stylus I got it because it had a better camera and more storage stereo speakers being a happy extra that’s not on the new stylus 5 g.
If I decide to upgrade it’s going to be to the Samsung Galaxy a52 5G that’s similar in price but has much better internals

Can’t wait. Since LG closed down. I will miss em but this hopefully will be a great substitute. Especially having a 5G capability. That’s what hoping for in LG but just when I thought they would release it the closed it out. So hello moto
