    You Have Problems, Not Issues
Somewhere, at some point over the recent past, someone decided that it was no longer acceptable for a person to say what he or she means; it was no longer acceptable to speak in precise, direct words. And what’s worse, someone, somewhere decided that we should all be offended when someone calls a problem a problem! Everything has to be translated into some sort of euphemism. I don’t really know why it started, but can we please stop referring to every problem as an issue?

An employee no longer has a problem keeping up with production; he has an issue. A child no longer has a problem behaving in class; she has an issue. A married couple in therapy no longer has problems in their marriage; they have issues.

Even bad weather now causes performance issues on the football field and traffic issues on the road; and a basketball player with a sprained ankle has an ankle issue. I’m not sure what’s so offensive about discussing traffic problems, health problems, or a sloppy football game. Is it just me?

The problem—that is, what’s wrong—with substituting issue for problem is that those two words are not synonymous—and no amount of being politically correct, disingenuous, or even condescending—yes, it can be condescending—will make it so.

An issue is a topic, such as The candidates will discuss the issues at the debate. That means that the candidates will discuss the different topics, or subject areas, involved in running our country.

A problem is something negative. A problem is something that needs to be solved. A problem is something that we try to overcome. A problem is something that we don’t want. There, I’ve said it. And it feels great.

An issue is not a problem, but I’ll tell you what is a problem: the grammatically incorrect trend of telling someone that he has an issue when what you really mean is that he has a problem. Call it what it is, and it’ll be easier to solve.

Mr. Cooley, what information do you have on the longevity of the battery of these vehicle? 10 years … I would love to buy one these SUV electric vehicle but I don’t want to replace the battery every 75,000 miles or 10 years whichever comes first. The cost to replace these battery would be enormous compare to buy an ICE SUV that could potential last upward of 250,000 miles. Thank you

  41. R P

    January 22, 2022 at 7:44 pm

The pickup release dates make sense, 1st Ford looks like an electric conversion, 2nd Silverado looks like a fresh but fairly conventional design, 3 Tesla, completely revolutionary, can’t wait to see them on the road but have zero interest in owning pickups.
Ionic 5 is the best looking conventional design SUV.
The Mercedes SUV is the ugliest.
Plug in hybrids are a snooze in 2022, that should be the minimum electrification of any vehicle.

This is good news for consumers. But one major problem i see with other EV mfg. How the heck traditional dealership is going to service the car? It’s not just mechanical but software? Does traditional dealership have a fully trained servicing team? They will most likely to charged consumers on everything. Map upgrade. System diagnostic. Dumb unnecessary changes.

One main thing people have to be mindful when comparing range is to compare range per battery pack size…they could say 300miles on a charge but if the battery pack is 150kwh they’re using twice the battery size of Tesla Model 3/Y. That’s how you know which company is a better one/efficient.

We should have implemented electric cars back in the early 1900s. Just imagine what we would be driving had we ditched mass ICE engines, and instead developed both side by side so they both are utilized….but no way would we use that logic, because it doesn’t utilize scarecity for profit.

The libtards dont want to build new plants and want to shut down much of the plants we have. Yet they want to somehow charge millions of vehicles. Me thinks something isnt going to work here…hmmmmmm

    Hybrids are NOT Electric Vehicle’s!
It’s the worst of both worlds.
They lack the reliability, safety and performance of an EV, still have the complexity, smell, pollution & maintenance of a Combustion car.
At any given time, you’re always dragging along a completely useless power train.
Oh yeah, and they’re 2 as likely to catch fire then a combustion car, not ten times as safe like a real EV.
Don’t be stupid and fall for that crap. Just buy a Tesla, demand is so crazy you’ll have to wait, but it’s well worth it. You won’t regret it, no matter what crap on this list you compare it to.

Remember one thing the government can shut down the electrical grid ,so if they decide during the next government planned pandemic ,they don’t want you to travel ,the can shut everything down even your car with the flick of a switch, they can’t do that with gasoline, so once the switch is made the government holds all the cards ,plus they control the price of electricity, and there is not competition, it’s a monopoly and you will have no control over a damn thing ,don’t do it keep gasoline cars ,or this country will be at the mercy of the government and its whims ,

EV purchasers who realize there is more to EVs than just CO2 reduction, may, as you point out, care about recycled plastic and vegan interiors. What the environmental impact of battery components are is another concern which you did not mention. Which of these vehicles avoid nickel and cobalt in their batteries? Nickel for EVs in accelerating strip mining of tropical forests in Indonesia and the Philippines, hence the preference for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) over the nickel rich alternatives. See my review “The Dirty Nickel Problem”, or if you only have 4 minutes, my song (YouTube) “So You Want an Electric Car?”.

thank you very much for this awesome video .. outstanding .. would you please talk about the expectation of Relibitly and the cons !! I know its too early to tell .. but if there’s is anything to consider regarding Relibitly what that could be ? !! I see a lot of reviews showing the awesomeness of the new Ev’s and how promising they are .. please don’t take me wrong .. I’m not against the movement toward Ev’s .. most people get upset just when I talk like that .. thinking that I’m against it .. but I’m not .. I do like the idea .. look we are getting rid of the check engine light for yearly emission check .. do you know how annoying that is ?! so yeah I like the fact no engine oil change or coolant water pump timing chain way too expensive Catalytic Converter .. and all that annoying ICE engineering expensive parts .. BUT what is that to be a wear of when consider EV’s .. lets be real nothing is perfect !! thank you

I hate to say this and this is just common sense electric vehicles are not for everybody.
If you live close to a metropolitan area in your commute is relatively short and you don’t keep your vehicle in the road such as a service vehicle an electric vehicles probably fine.

However if you commute long distances like to travel across country work on a farm such as I do need a large truck to move stuff around need a truck to drive back and forth to town multiple times a week to buy materials for the farm feed whatever an electric vehicle is not practical.

And I’m not trying to get conspiratorial here but they would like more of us to move closer to major cities that makes the electric vehicles much more attractive to us however those of us that like living way out in the country have no use for an electric vehicle.

There’s also the question of infrastructure say everybody in the country was to get an electric vehicle tomorrow we don’t have enough juice to charge all these vehicles on a daily basis because they are closing coal fired power plants down and they’re not building alternatives wind and solar will not get it.

I think if you want an electric vehicle that is great for you buy one but do not force those of us who do not want one to buy one and that is what our government is leaning towards.

Another issue with electric vehicles cold weather that will cut your charge time in half try to run your heat it’ll cut it down even more sorry folks this is just a pipe dream that’s never going to be practical for most people.

But what about the carbon footprint required to manufacturer batteries, the carbon footprint to generate the electricity needed in order to recharge the batteries, and the carbon footprint required to dispose of and recycle the batteries after their usable life has ended? I really don’t believe that electric is necessarily the “clean” answer here. Perhaps we should have revisited hydrogen.

If car manufacturers want Americans to drive EV vehicles, then they need to get mileage over 400 on a single charge. This 250 to 300 max crap won’t cut it for the majority. The F-150 mileage actually sounds reasonable.

If you want to control people, take away their cars. This shift to electric vehicles is a huge trap. Think about it.
Once every car is an EV, the power grid becomes overstressed, the switch that enables the powerful to keep people at home. probably in the Metaverse. Which is their end game eventually. When the electricity is limited or cut off altogether, say because the Bitcoin miners and users are sucking up all available power. Cars will quickly become second, and even become obsolete in the next great reset the uplords have in my mind.
