I’m really annoyed that this woman completely failed to mention the HUGE part that Canada played in rescuing these diplomats, as well as in hiding them in the Canadian embassy for all that time. I’m annoyed, but I’m not in the least bit surprised, the movie Argo also portrays the Americans as being in charge of everything, and as being the rescuing force. I wonder why the major US news programs of the day all announced that the country owed the return of these 6 diplomats to Canada then? It’s public knowledge, why are you still lying about it? Canada, The True North, Strong And Free.

I can vouch for the job listings. I’m a criminology major and my university has us refine our resumes and help us with internships within our majors to get a career started. Being in criminology a lot of agencies and police department jobs come up a lot, and “Special Agent” listings for both the CIA and FBI have popped up on multiple occasions for me. I don’t think I’m quite ready to apply but it they are interesting to look at.

I would love to see an example of one of their full mask disguises. I have a really hard time imagining that it wouldn’t be totally clockable up close without a makeup artist, glue, and paint involved. That’s how she made it sound anyway, with being able to easily pull the mask off and then just look completely normal after that (besides maybe fixing your hair).

The last answer is sort of the most confusing but also the most logical answer. A: Ask yourself if youd send a spy (whos job is to communicate) into an active warzone. B: Ask yourself whether she would know the truth (as an ex CIA member), and whether shed tell you if she did. So it was the most confusing because it doesnt make sense for the CIA to have spies in Ukraine right now. But also the most logical, because thats what shed say either way (denying it wouldnt make sense, because it would be either telling the truth or would look even more suspicious).

10:10 Such a high resolution film did not exist for the ordinary average Joe to get their hands on, by obvious reasons, but mostly since they didn’t have any need of it either. Concerning Argo, I find that funny there is no mention of the Canadian version of it… that movie is a joke, complete rewriting of what happened to put the CIA in light while irl Canadians are those who actually managed it.

A friend of mine would suddenly start talking about how he had this briefcase chained to his hand left hand. And then his service weapon was on the right side. So they were supposed to shake hands and say a code, and if the code was wrong … they should umm defend themselves. So you normally shake hands with the right hand. And he did. And then the other guy said the wrong code. But he kept holding his hand so he couldn’t get to his service weapon.

When I think of espionage I think of stories like Mossad’s attempt to capture a Mig-21 and they had to kill I think it was three people before getting to someone who was willing to defect.
Like they’d approach three people propose to them to defect and then kill them if they said no.
I don’t think that is something unique to the Mossad and I would have loved to pin these tougher questions about moral conduct to people like Joana even though she would never answer them.

Hold on. I think the state department has a larger issue with the idea that spies are using diplomatic cover because then diplomats can be treated as spies whether they are spying or not. I understand the security benefits of playing at being a diplomat but it undercuts the ability of diplomats to be exactly that. Noncombatant, protected diplomats can be accused of spying if there’s a precedent there.

I am very wary of the CIA and other intelligence agencies for the threat they represent to civil liberties. The attractive question doesn’t make sense as everyone has a different type. To some, there’s super attractive people who others wouldn’t even look back at. You then have several things that grab attention that makes being attractive irrelevant such as a mole on someone’s skin, facial hair/hair, tattoos, bad skin, a smell, hair colour, body type. I can guarantee you don’t have to be attractive but if you’ve got a curvy larger figure, there’s going to be men out there who can remember your face 🤷🏼

How do you practice stuff like poking someone’s eyes out or tearing at their mouth or whatever – you know, the really effective moves that are not allowed in any combat sport because they would injure the opponent? I know someone that pressenced a dead drop. They were seated at the bus station when noticed a person that stop to look for something and leaved a portafolio next to another person that was seated waiting on their phone and had exactly the same portafolio.
The person standing took not their portafolio but the one of the person seated and went their merry way. They never even acknowledge each other but as the bus of person watching all that got delayed they got to watch when the seated person took the new portafolio and went too on their merry way.

Since this vid is a year old, not sure if anyone at CIA will read this and answer but I’ll give it a shot. Is there an age requirement to join? I’m aware that to join the FBI, the applicant has to be at least 21 years old, a US citizen, and have a four-year degree.
I remember reading a book several years ago about Aldrich Ames in which it talks about him giving up the names of their spies. If I’m not mistaken I think it was in that book that it mentioned that the punishment was slowly lowering the person into a blast furnace. WHEW! That’s hard core.
