Does these cards compete against an Nvidia card with DLSS enabled?

    • hondajacka2

      March 3, 2021 at 4:59 pm

AMD doesn’t have an equivalent for DLSS out yet

      March 3, 2021 at 5:38 pm

@hondajacka2 but are the cards capable of an AMD driver update to include AMDs version of DLSS?

    • hondajacka2

      March 3, 2021 at 7:05 pm

@CruiserTech GT DLSS require Nvidia’s Tensor Cores which are at the hardware level. So not Nvidia’s DLSS. AMD will have their own version (eventually?) which their current cards will likely support. But we don’t know. And even if AMD has their DLSS for this gen of cards, I don’t think it will work as well because Nvidia’s Tensor Cores are specifically made for deep learning calculations which current AMD cards don’t have an equivalent for at the hardware level.

@hondajacka2 So AMD cards still are not competitive. Maybe only competitive in crypto mining.

    • hondajacka2

      March 3, 2021 at 10:07 pm

@CruiserTech GT It’s competitive for pure rasterization and maybe crypto (?? I don’t do this). But when it comes to features like DLSS, raytracing, professional visualization, or Broadcast (AI for your Zoom calls), AMD doesn’t have those or is not close yet.

Dont buy graphic card for 2-3 months as the stock keeper would have to lower their price automatically. please spread this for lowering graphic card price .

AMD didn’t set the price of this card at $479, buyers set the price of this card at around ~$600.

I believe what AMD is doing (and don’t really blame them I guess) is they know AIBs will sell this card for ~$600 no matter what they set the MSRP at. The market right now means no matter what the price is they will sell out instantly, so why bother pricing these cards really low?

If AMD set the MSRP at $349 to be ultra competitive then AIBs would just make loads of money as the street price would still be ~$600, if AMD prices them at $479 then AMD & AIBs make loads of money. And you just have to hope some of that money goes into RDNA 3, 4 and 5 development.

Manufacturers don’t set the price of products, buyers set the price! There isn’t a single card on the market right now that I would buy, so my money is staying in my pocket. Once the mining bubble bursts or production catches up to demand then I will look at cards and prices again. What everyone else is up to them.

And who knows, maybe Intel will be the saviour of the PC gaming market!!!

In every tech video there seems to be a chain of comments under 1 comment always promoting one specific trader (of bitcoin). Are those bots? They even replied to me, to two comments and after that the whole comment section was deleted.
I don’t buy any crypto, just asking.
