I was thinking when we will see hbm memory in personal computer and here it is we have 576gb hbm3e. We will see more in future for sure arround 50gb to 100gb is sweet spot I think.

Hopefully AMD doesn’t start over hyping their products, acting as if they’re almost sentient, like other tech CEO’s and news media. Open source models running on local machines can help professionals be more productive if used correctly.

AMD AI support is kinda Bullshits
on consumers , their ROCm only supported on newer APUs 2024+.
Compared to Intel OpenVINO , Intel support it all the way to the Skylake era circa 2015.
Whats the point of having better iGPUs all this time when they don’t support it?

I hope when someone says their computer can run xxxB parameter, it mean full F16 / BF16. So perhaps next year out new model with twice bigger parameter we still can run it locally but at Q8. Then two years later even bigger next gen model, so now we can run 4 x xxxB at Q4. But most of the product of small PC does not match the spec and their claim about parameter in F16.

Copying DGX Station without even changing the naming scheme is really a cope. Why don’t AMD release competitor to the RTX 6000? Just bump the RAM on R9700 to 64 or even 96. Using GDDR6 is fine for “Personal AI”.
Its for “Personal AI” without the “Business AI Prices”

Look, I use AI daily for my job and I get it, it’s great, but there’s no way I am buying a $200k AI workstation. The electricity costs alone would make it a worse alternative to APIs. It’s hard to imagine who the target audience for this is.
If you want to sell AI PCs, design small form factor devices with genuine unified memory, high memory bandwidth and fast compute. I’d buy something like an AI Halo Dev box if it could be spec’d up to 512gb of ram, had GPU compute performance comparable to a single 9070xt, was quiet, and used no more than 300 watts (underclockable to find a balance of electricity costs vs tokens/second or it/sec for diffusion workloads).
