The U.S. Department of Justice, along with sixteen state attorneys general, are suing Apple over alleged monopolistic smartphone practices. The DOJ alleges Apple reduces competition for the iPhone and within iOS by suppressing third party apps and digital wallets, among other things, that makes it more difficult to switch from an iPhone to a competitor. Though a quick resolution is unlikely, it comes on the heels of earlier rulings in the EU against Apple’s business practices and an ongoing investigation into Google, echoing the days of Microsoft’s antitrust trials.

Tech crunch, BGR, CNET, The verge, Wired, Ars Technica well known pro Apple sites flipped out and they are running to cover their precious company. This isn’t news or journalism. This is Apple PR .

Nope. It is ridiculous. They can say a lot of things, but by definition it is ridiculous. There are tons of other options. Mentioning Microsoft is hilarious as they were in fact a monopolies along with Intel with very few real options for anyone.

TechChumps seems to be egregiously biased and apologetic for Apple. Used to read it years ago but stopped after they started locking down stories and being irrelevant. TC seems to be bought by Apple now.

lenovo behind today’s motorola is selling ultra low budget phones via operators as second phones(since you cannot really use two sims on your iphone) and for business customers who need an additional phone to separate their prof life from their real one. I know a lot of people who do that and motorola phones are great as it since they have bigger baterries and less bloated software than samsung counterparts
