Hey, if anyone wants to pay for my rent for the rest of my life and be my *actual real-life hero* instead of buying some paper with a story of a fictional hero – hit me up?

I’m all for doing what you love, but spending that much on something you probably won’t touch or read is really out of touch in a world where so many of us can’t afford to live :/

  8. @fly1ngsh33p7

    February 17, 2026 at 5:27 pm

Can we change “how valuable is” to “how much did/would some idiot pay”? Because I think that’s all of it: Store it until some idiot pays an absurd amount of money for it.

    February 17, 2026 at 5:39 pm

Stan Lee didn’t come up with the X-Men concept. He copied another comic that featured a team of misfits and outcasts led by a man in a wheelchair known as the Doom Patrol at DC comics.

  11. @Spiderpichi2099

    February 17, 2026 at 5:48 pm

Love him or hate him (and trust me I hate him), you gotta admit how much Logan Paul paid and sold the Pokemon card for is impressive.

That giant robot you showed is actually the Getter Dragon form of Getter Robo G by Go Nagai. -5 points. Apparently the anime was named Starvengers for US release. Not related to GoShogun.

The AmEx uber credits cost more than 10 to get 10. And its each month. And its still 1:1 other than ✈️.

    Capital 1 is much easier.

  18. @hannuvallin6155

    February 17, 2026 at 7:02 pm

I was kind of getting annoyed with all the prices being mentioned, and then he brought up “Wata” and pretty much all the respect went out the window at that moment. How can anyone who takes themselves seriously think of Wata as anything else than a joke.

  19. @TheIfarted

    February 17, 2026 at 7:21 pm

Misprints are a big deal because people with a lot of money to spend decided mistakes were valuable instead of trash.

I cant believe this guy trying on the captain america suit and touching everything without gloves. Thats how you know these prices are just a scam.

  28. @cruddell

    February 18, 2026 at 8:23 am

More important question: Are you the highest net-worth individual (non-famous person) that’s done one of these for Wired?

  29. @bentationfunkiloglio

    February 18, 2026 at 8:32 am

This guy is a marketing phenom!

Getting paid to grade mass produced plastic boxes and associated shrink wrap?

    Genius!

  30. @tilaron

    February 18, 2026 at 9:16 am

Oh dear. The grading industry is essentially a scam; it’s arbitrary, the perceived value is up to the grader, and you will never make as much on a sale as someone spouting speculative b.s. will have you believe. Good luck to you if it’s something you’ve already “invested” in though. 🙂

  31. @whatashameofthat

    February 18, 2026 at 9:20 am

    this is… kinda pathetic?

  32. @cactusloaf

    February 18, 2026 at 9:54 am

this guy immediately lost credibility when he shilled for Wata

  33. @grandexandi

    February 18, 2026 at 10:15 am

So… provenance is basically someone’s word. Someone who’s financially encouraged to provide such provenance. There’s a lot of faith in that. And when I say “a lot”, I mean ONLY faith.

  34. @GdSza

    February 18, 2026 at 10:31 am

I sympathize there needs to be a universal way to grade comic books, but putting them in a slab thus making them into a 2d object where the pages can’t be enjoyed, just makes me sad. Why are the contents even relative if one can’t appreciate it. How does the purchaser know the pages exist? May as well “preserve” comic books in a resin mold if it can never be enjoyed as a book again but as a tangible non-fungible token.

  35. @DareMurdok

    February 18, 2026 at 10:48 am

That seems like such a fun job how does someone even get into that career?

  36. @BHPhillips1

    February 18, 2026 at 10:48 am

Wait, Nicolas Cage was robbed and you sold his copy back to him? Is that even legal?

  37. @davebooshty299

    February 18, 2026 at 11:15 am

7:53 Odds are thats NOT Johnny Storm , but instead The Android Toro , as fun to mention.

  38. @dontcallmegus

    February 18, 2026 at 11:16 am

“How do you authenticate a movie prop?”

“Well, does it look like the prop in the movie? Then it’s authentic and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars!” 😅😅

All of this is so stupid.

  39. @JW_Steed

    February 18, 2026 at 1:49 pm

This was fun, thanks. Please bring Vincent back for more.

  40. @davidmccarthy6061

    February 18, 2026 at 2:10 pm

The crazy part is why anyone would think any of this has any value. Maybe in a history archive and that’s about it.

  41. @urbanstrencan

    February 18, 2026 at 3:24 pm

this was awesome one, to me it is still insane to see what kind of prices some of the collectibles get😅😅

Dude casually showing collectibles worth millions ……. 🥺

  44. @TiredMomma

    February 18, 2026 at 5:46 pm

Pathetic people have that kind of money, and think a Pokemon card should cost in the millions, you are RUINING THE FUN OF THE GAME!
Meanwhile families like mine (only 4 of us) struggle to get basic needs, like food, toilet paper, hand soap, etc. And no, we don’t go to Walmart unless it something Aldi’s or Dollar General/Dollar Tree doesn’t have.

Also, I’ve an original Pocket Monster card. I don’t even care how much it’s worth, it’s a piece of paper with ink stuff on it. I keep it because of a good memory.

  45. @tylercollins9323

    February 18, 2026 at 6:10 pm

You can tell this guys no good when he doesn’t even talk about replicas and the British Guyana stamp that’s 10 million and is red and die cut

  46. @omgitshere

    February 18, 2026 at 6:41 pm

Shame on Wired for uncritically trotting out this grading shill. Grading is a scam – think about it, you’re getting some random company made up of random people to arbitrarily decide what quality something is. It’s absurd. And the more people pay top dollar for high-grdaed items, to more undserved credibility this lends the grading companies, it’s a vicious cycle.

  47. @Turretguy

    February 18, 2026 at 7:05 pm

  57. @Targoon_Music

    February 19, 2026 at 4:36 am

10:52 well no, if you ever went to theaters back in the day you should know this
movie theaters didn’t screen VHS tapes! well known ones got high grade reel copies and lesser theaters got lower grade copies. and both of these were miles ahead of VHS tapes in terms of quality
so unless you watched every movie on VHS, the muddy picture is not what you should remember

    • @elbowsup2025

      February 19, 2026 at 11:58 am

Exactly! Watching a VHS now recreates what you saw at your friend’s house or on TV, but not what you saw in theaters.

Very informative. WATA engages in some pretty damning speculative practices though.

  60. @schwurzelino

    February 19, 2026 at 8:15 am

Talking about these kinds of sums being spend for essentially play things sounds insane to me in today’s economy. I mean, I get the inherent value in a museum or art kind of sense. But just to put it in your basement and look at it once in a while? For house buying money. Insane.

  61. @Laserman99

    February 19, 2026 at 9:25 am

I loved that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Alley traded the card for something just as useless. So ray tracks down another card, pays hundreds of dollars for it and gets it for her and the first thing is folds it and puts it in her pocket.

I buy a second copy of new video games I love when they go on sale to keep sealed for nostalgia. I got a sealed Kingdom Hearts collection for ps4 I will never let go.

  85. @familiaestprimum

    February 20, 2026 at 5:25 pm

Not so fun fact : he only says holy grail 4 times in this video, I thought it would be more but it doesn’t

  86. @tazimusmaximus

    February 20, 2026 at 8:12 pm

It always bugs me when people touch high grade comics or cards. Dude literally lowered the value on those by a little bit.

  87. @tazimusmaximus

    February 20, 2026 at 8:15 pm

Weird question: If The Rock had all of Bruce Lee’s skill, who do you think would win in a fight? Like the Rock would be slower and what not, but in this hypothetical he’s got the same skill as Bruce. So like Bruce is running around doing his thing, being lighting fast and powerful and what not, whilst The Rock would be much slower, but more powerful as well. Like I am genuinely curious

  88. @tazimusmaximus

    February 20, 2026 at 8:17 pm

Man, its crazy how the terrible, terribly drawn Wolverine became one of the most popular super heroes ever.

    • @Tokru86

      February 22, 2026 at 6:25 pm

Everything he showed was terribly drawn garbage. The whole comic collecting scene is based on nostalgia and nothing else. No artistic value at all.

  89. @tazimusmaximus

    February 20, 2026 at 8:18 pm

I got Ninja Turtles #2 somewhere around here.

  91. @Strawberryandre3

    February 20, 2026 at 9:03 pm

Van Gogh pikachu isn’t particularly rare nor was it all that hard to get lol. You just had to make a purchase on the Pokémon center during the promotion and you got it for free. Going to the museum was one way but most people just did the former.

  92. @Uatu-the-Watcher

    February 20, 2026 at 9:32 pm

I would be upset if I bought the Cap America costume and knew that the only person who wore it was Chris Evans and then finding out this guy put it on and wore it…kind of devalued the costume

  94. @DJHskrVikesCbbes2525

    February 21, 2026 at 3:17 am

I think grades/pricing for comicbooks are sick & wrong. The book is only worth as much as you are willing
to spend. About 14yrs ago, I bought a G.I Joe #21. The front cover is beaten-up and the paper shows some
damage, but all the pages are there. The story hits the same homerun. I think I paid 3 or 4 dollars
for the issue. That’s all that any person’s collection needs.

This haul is such a celebration of creative joy. I love how you don’t just buy books — you curate them. You think about paper weight, whether it can handle watercolor or alcohol markers, what vibe you want (cozy Christmas, spooky cute, bold and easy), and how each medium will bring the pages to life. That kind of intentional creativity is inspiring.

What really stood out to me was that spark you described — seeing the colored examples and instantly wanting to grab your paints. That “I need to create right now” feeling is powerful. It’s the moment art stops being passive and becomes something personal.

That exact feeling is what inspired me to write my novel The Rhythm of Three Strings: An Island Blues Cigar Box Guitar Odyssey.

It’s not a coloring book, but it carries that same cozy, handmade, creative energy. It follows a young boy on a sunlit island who discovers a simple three-string cigar box guitar and slowly learns to build, play, and find his rhythm in life. It’s about creative courage, making imperfect attempts, learning through doing, and that quiet magic that happens when you decide to make something with your own hands.

    If you love:

cozy seasonal vibes and comforting creative rituals

    expressive, hands-on artistry

stories that feel warm, atmospheric, and immersive

that spark that makes you want to create immediately

I think you’d really connect with it.

Thank you for sharing your haul — it’s the kind of video that makes people want to open a fresh book, pick up their tools, and start. And that’s a beautiful thing. ✨

Uh VHS tapes has a life span of couple decades at most, with some of these tapes being well older than some folks these days, I find it insane people would collect these today. Depending on the storage climate, how often the tapes were used (rewound, played etc) you are essentially just paying for packaging and the tapes likely lost its magnetic charge that held the feature film.

Logan Paul is a scam maybe not his collection but him as a person. Artificial influence inflation. Like WATA selling the mass produced Mario bros and pretending a $3 game is worth $2M the same game that sits on every game collector shelf. It’s all hype and market manipulation.

    • @lanedj801

      February 25, 2026 at 6:34 pm

If you agree to sell something as an investment to a friend of your grading business simply to have a placeholder reference number for the future investment of similar items. It’s Literally artificially creating a market and scamming the community of future investors.
If you wanna start a grading company? Find a rich friend to publicize a “purchase” to then resell it as “one of a kind”

Why would you put your dirty body into someone’s very expensive costume before shipping it to them?! That is terrible, and then to enthusiastically tell the internet about it. What a chunt.

  134. @DragonRollYumYum

    February 26, 2026 at 6:47 pm

You call something with ~47,000 PSA 10 copies “very rare, very tough to get”? And this is what you do for a living? Incredible!!

  135. @mulemule

    February 26, 2026 at 8:03 pm

In a decade of chasing slabs, I’ve never _once_ met a single collector who uses Overstreet as a reliable pricing guide.
Don’t believe me? Try going to Vincent’s store and getting him to sell you ANY “Golden Age” book at Overstreet’s price.
(It’s akin to the legendary “Blue Book” for automobiles: everybody cites it but nobody seriously respects its accuracy.) 🤔

I don’t get it. They stole Nicolas Gage’s Action Comics 1, then they found it and bought it for 2 million? Does that fact that it was stolen means nothing?
