Was an Apple Watch loyalist for 8 years. Just gave it up recently as I got tired of charging my watch every night + wanted something less distracting on my wrist. Went with the Whoop (yes it has a subscription but $0 for the actual device), so I don’t mind it + no screen + 15 days battery life.
If Apple comes out with a screenless device, then we’re cookin’ 🔥

I find that if I charge the watch for 30 mins after I decompress from work. I can put it back on and it will last till the same time the next day. But an “Apple Strap” is a cool idea!

I have to be the only person that wants the audio features. What I didn’t realize until after I ordered, was that they aren’t going to happen right now. I think this is going to be a miracle for hard-of-hearing or deaf people. There are so many times when I don’t hear a word or a comment (like when I asked my neighbor her son’s name, and didn’t hear it and repeated it back wrong, and she nicely said, oh well, we call him that sometimes. I still don’t know the kid’s name!). The thing is, we do have these programs already on our phones at least the recording one. My sister, who is nearly deaf uses them all the time. I use them in groups where I can’t hear totally what is said. I also have a paid program that summarizes things. I canceled the subscription not realizing we weren’t getting these upon delivery. Not saying it couldn’t be used in a bad way, so can everything else, but for the hard-of-hearing, it’s just another tool to survive in a hearing world, and as people get older, you will be glad it’s there. Also, if I am in a group meeting, I do comment that I have it on, even though my phone is usually sitting on the table so people would question it anyway.

I’ve been wearing my Apple Watch to bed for years, and I’m not conscious of its presence at all. Maybe I was for the first night or two, but I don’t recall.

The most useful apple watch ever feature was the ability to switch between apps by double clicking a wheel button and to close apps that you don’t use this way. They removed this completely with this rewind gimmick. That’s no update for me and my s11, unfortunately 😢

Yea, I don’t like that they took away the double click option to close or switch thru the apps. I don’t like apps running in the background for many reasons, one major reason is battery draining. Many YouTubers say apps running don’t really drain your battery but it does. So yea, I hate that it’s gone too

I already ordered two watches to replace our series 8 watches since they aren’t supported by iOS 27 and the battery isn’t great anymore. It looks like I’ll be able to get rid of bevel app since Apple’s own software will be doing much of the same thing. Im definitely looking forward to better battery life and useful stats for health.

People are going nuts about the Apple watch microphone and questioning the security. You realised that every smartphone has a microphone, internet connection and don’t have any exclave at all, right? Almost all smart phones have an always on mic listening for Hey Siri or Hey Google as well as other features like Googles music widget etc. Also have you ever had a conversation with someone about a product and then 2 hours later you get ads for that product? Yeah, microphones. The Apple Watch with it’s sophisticated security should be the least of your concerns.

It’s not about how secure Apple’s servers are, it’s about the creepy person secretly recording a summary of your conversation w/o your knowing. What you say on a date, during an argument, a confidential business meeting, the people at the table next to you….
