    Every word you said
    Compromised your position.

It didn’t. She essentially said humans excel at the high level context. How does that compromise her position?

@tc-aGsZXNjZW5laG9ybnN0cmF3d2ef it honestly sounds like a coping mechanism. Factually, artificial intelligence’s capabilities are beyond our control/comprehension.

@puravida983 “Factually” huh? Which AI? Machine Learning? Computer Vision? LLMs? The non existent ones like LAM, LAM, LWM or AGI? Or do you just ignorantly think all things referred to as “AI” are an ASI or a proto-ASI or will somehow evolve to a HLAI?

    • @tc-aGsZXNjZW5laG9ybnN0cmF3d2ef

      September 18, 2026 at 7:20 pm

@puravida983uhm… seems like you’re trying to conflate “hard to predict process” with “high capability”. Llms do well at some tasks, do poorly at others. I’ve adressed the speaker’s shortcomings in my own thread.
Here, I’m asking about Jason’s statement which doesn’t go into any detail.

We need to take ourselves outside of the box and think of those don’t have the access/abilities to learn about ai this ai that. Some people just want to work their regular jobs and go back to their families. Not every work need ai, we just need more moral as people and relearn what’s like to work together as individuals. In the end we are all we got.

    • @tc-aGsZXNjZW5laG9ybnN0cmF3d2ef

      September 17, 2026 at 10:04 pm

That is called play. You do activities for fun that you generally don’t get paid for.
When it comes to work, efficiency is usually required.

      September 17, 2026 at 11:35 pm

I believe that “dumb labour” as in do “Thing x a 100 times then do thing y in a loop” will completely vanish as a job as soon as its cheaper to do with a robot then a human. And there is nothing we as humans can do about that because that is the propose of human beings since there are human beings: getting rid of work. So yeah this lady is pretty sure pretty right about: get smarter or get lost.
In the end we need to clarify what we need to do with the people that cant enhance themself in that direction with that skillset, not because they dont want to but because they really are incapabel aquiring that needed skillset.
Best thing would be we educate early on and allencompassing so noone simple is incapabel.

@jordancool3591 Did you think you made a point? “Some people don’t understand AI or want to think about it”, is that your attempt at a point? That’s the same for micro plastics, climate change, quantum computing, over population, pollution and dozens of other issues: just wanting to stay ignorant doesn’t mean the subject doesn’t affect you personally.

All this is great to hear. But can you please say this to Google/ Oracle/ Adidas/ Amazon/ Microsoft etc as these are the companies that are sacking employees in hundreds.

Burn all the AI to the ground and imprison those that tried to enforce it on us!
We are all John and Sarah Connor!!

Not so sure that’s irreplaceable. It seems absurd to make that statement especially in a world and a field that changes so quickly.

What I think is irreplaceable is a human’s time. If you spend time doing something you are in some way vouching for that thing with your limited time.

When programs mass produce something, it doesnt have that minimal guarantee.

Most people dont really understand that AI is just a buzz as the internet was in the 90is. Was the internet vastly underestimated? Yes but for other reasons people tought back then. AI will bring a massiv disruption to society as the internet has brought, maybe even more massiv.
But in the end AI is a tool for massdata analytics. Nor more nor less. Its great for digging through Information or looking for that piece of pattern, but it needs a human to clarify what to search for. Maybe in some years this human can also be AI…maybe. But then i think we need another human to look at that AI and set it up.
We really dont know what AI is all capable of. But we also dont know what thing someone will invent next. In the end it doesent matter.
Life is change so go with the flow.
We just need to decide is that a good thing or a bad thing for society.

Well Chris i hate to break it to you but the world’s leaders have shown time and time again they do not want what’s best for society.

Unfortunately, none of those human values may matter. It’s like saying chimpanzees can identify the most delicious banana by smell. Impressive—but humans still dominate them.

Intelligence doesn’t require a human understanding of the existence, nor does it have to share our values or ways of thinking. I think it’s shortsighted to assume that our form of intelligence is the only meaningful one that can exist.

We define intelligence through the narrow window of existence we’re capable of understanding. Not being able to see beyond that may say more about the limits of being human than about the limits of intelligence itself.
