The Middle East is a climate hotspot, with many parts of the region set to experience an increase in temperature by five to eight degrees Celsius by the end of the century. Palestinian peace activist Nada Majdalani discusses how the climate crisis could actually instigate a movement towards peace, unveiling the “Peace Triangle” initiative — a visionary plan to transform conflicts in the Middle East through shared water and energy projects. Drawing on her experience in cross-border environmental collaboration, she offers a glimpse of how economic interdependence between Israelis, Palestinians and Jordanians could lead to peace. (Recorded at TED Countdown Summit 2025 on June 16, 2025)

It’s the emotional change that needs to happen. Hate is learned and taught.

The ones in control, do not seek peace. Peace doesn’t sell.

Don’t call it a war, it is a genocide based on race and religion.

How ironic that the religion of environmentalism thinks it can fix religion problems in the middle east.

Gaza reference and the real reason for this. America is again THE world power and all the shadow figures using US politicians and other countries to launder money and control other nations (like via USAID) now are scrambling.
The moronic comments here are clearly paid advertising and while hilariously inept and obvious they do reinforce the lack of humility, self awareness, and common sense we’ve come to expect from these sorts of “thinkers”.

I cried when I heard you! I’m so glad that you and your colleagues exist! God bless you! God bless all your colleagues, your families, communities, your people! May the beauty and the peace of the Lord come over the land of Israel – Palestine. I will pray for you from now on till I cease to be.

    Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nothing is impossible when Humans are united in a clear, positive and beneficial goal.

While many recognize war’s problems, few acknowledge its substantial pollution and environmental harm, which remains entirely unaccounted for, and irresponsibly exempt, from any liability or responsibility.

    There will be P E A C E

The idea of a two state peace is not impossible. It requires the elimination of pride, not people or culture. The acceptance of differences being strengths and contention being abhorrent to the understanding of individual and collective peace.

Just starting by calling it the middle East is wrong. Why enforce colonialism? It’s simply west Asia.

  14. @Gracedaisy28

    August 7, 2025 at 1:18 pm

The situation in the Middle East is too complicated due to multiple factors- history, values, political systems, religions, and it has been like that for thousands of years. There is little hope it can be solved if ever. Regardless of that, Palestine will be free soon ❤

So basically, recognise Palestine as an independant state and support their growth? Good luck getting Israel to agree with that.

Ted is billionaires providing a microphone only to people who give non disruptive “Soultions” to problems the same billionaires cause and perpetuate, it’s difficult because the speakers usually have good intentions and are good people so providing a critique isn’t received well… this woman correctly identifies the abundant natural resources and high environmentally friendly methods of generating energy that much of the Middle East is perfect for but it does exactly what Ted needs of its speakers it’s indirect it provides hope to viewers under the guides of education without solid solutions, what can Palestine do when it’s under occupation experiencing genocide not much… I’m sure the speaker knows this and believes this but, ofc Palestine and Israel should invest in renewable energy but that can’t happen the genocide is over a one state solution with peacekeepers brings down tensions etc, also something doesn’t rub me right about being intrested in renewable energy from the lens of a source of profit capital historically exasperates issues. Does however seem like a great way to provide clean energy to other parts of the world but whole video seems focused on the wrong thing given the current situation

How can you talk about peace when you have changed the name of the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Gulf in the pictures? You’d better read a history book about the Middle East first, so you’ll know that the name of that gulf has always been the Persian Gulf.

according to scientists computers would all crash in 2000, overpopulation was going to happen as foretold in the 60’s,we needed to heat up the temperature since we were heading toward an ice age in the 70s, ,and now its getting too hot we need to cool it down—-pardon me if I have not heard this song and dance before and am getting tired of it.

“This (The Middle East) is a colonial language”, said Nawal El Saadawi. What if we started to see the area as “West Asia”? Would there be any difference? (Source: search “Nawal El Saadawi 2015 interview Middle East”)
