“how would things be different…”
there would be no high quality iOS
there would be no policing of aps and control of quality
-everything would be malware!
-there would be no Epic because the companies games are based on Apple software development tools and the trusted marketplace created by Apple
The wonderland Epic claims would result from outlawing apple store rules exists! Nobody is stopping Epic from making and selling it’s own software -NOBODY WANTS TO GIVE UP SAFETY AND QUALITY OF THEIR MISSION CRITICAL DIGITAL LIFE JUST TO PLAY SOME CRAPPY LITTLE GAME!!!!
The world has an unlimited supply of free for all “load at your ow risk” software! There is only one Apple iOS walled garden -AND IT IS THE GREATEST DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM THERE IS!

This case could lead to interesting things. I don’t expect to be able to play playstation games on an xbox. But some how Epic games thinks that devices such as Iphone should let competing platforms on their phone?
Only reason i buy and iphone is that apple has to sign the code running on my iphone. If I wanted to be able to download “apk’s” or “apps” from internet i would buy a phone from litterally anyone else, such as samsung, huawei, sony or Oneplus.

Even if Epic wins that has no impact on you, you can still download from the Apple App store and ignore the other apps.
