We’ve had cellular internet for a while now and it works great. No problems here in western Washington state.

What she/they don’t tell you about 5G home internet is that it cannot accurately pinpoint your location (it’s sometimes hundreds of miles off), which causes some services (like streaming TV and sports services) to blackout certain channels & games. I found this out the hard way and switched back to terrestrial cable.

What about satellite connectivity?
Last year (in 2024) even our (India’s) 15th century TelCo.. BSNL and viasat had a ‘proof of concept’ demonstration of how peer ro peer connectivity too can be achieved.
.
Of-course here.. even the mobility companies too are reaching out to rural areas.
But i hilly areas.. cellular services are still patchy

It’s only popular because no body has land lines anymore cellular internet was good but now they say it’s unlimited up until you use an amount of data. Internet providers are getting worse and they are charging more for less data usage.
