Humans need to unionize against ai and robots before it’s too late…

Are we really going to risk doing a Matrix/iRobot/Terminator just so we don’t have to pack the self washing laundry? Or pack the self washing dishwasher? Or turn on the self cleaning vacuum?

    WTF is wrong with people?

  4. @JohnBurd

    March 16, 2025 at 5:25 pm

This won’t happen because they will hit companies first laying off normal workers

The ability to become familiar with one’s home and perform tasks autonomously are important criteria for home robots. The alternative to learning one’s home with basic directions (as one may onboard a human housekeeper) and perform tasks autonomously is usually teleoperation. A remote operator controls the robot, seeing from its POV, at least until it has mastered a set of routines. However, while that may be fine in most industrial settings, teleoperation of a domestic robot, even if for a training period, would raise issues relating to privacy.

Dudes need to stop it with the making robots. I was just playing the game Atomic Heart. Robots are super creepy when they turn against humans 😣

  13. @Rob-p2c

If they showed the robot for longer than five seconds it would probably fall over, break your dishes, step on your dog and otherwise fail miserably at the task at hand

I welcome our new robot overlords. The current planetary management sucks! BTW, I predict robot charging stations coming to malls and streetcorners near you in the near future… Within 5 or so years… And that’s more than OK… Personally I’m still holding out for an official Lucy Liubot, Mac formatted, but I am aware of the risks of eating popcorn with her… /s

  15. @stickynorth

    March 16, 2025 at 7:45 pm

Still can’t tell if robots and humanity are headed for an “I, Robot” future or a “Ready Player One” reality where “the poors” worldwide are enslaved to do the bidding, work and otherwise of the rich… Like today but you know tele-operated style… And where everyone in your city, state and nation competes with AI and tele-operated robots for every job…
