Elon: What is the economy? It is a foundation of labour.

Builds robot to take over labour = no labour shortage.

Again, Elon is thinking from first principals.

The bot is not the big deal. DOJO capable of an Exoflop of computations is the real big news. Nobody has ever even conceptualized a processor capable of running at 9 petaflops. Let alone a cluster capable of 1.1 exoflops.

Train the bots to pick up dog sh*t in the yard.

You know what Musk should build? A car company that makes a profit selling cars. Start with that, then cyber trucks, then semis, then self-driving whatevers, then, maybe, robots. Dumbass.

  20. glenn alexon

    August 20, 2021 at 10:55 pm

My favorite part of this was seeing Musk wearing an Autopilot shirt. It should read “Sometimes Autopilot crashes you into police cars or fire engines”. That would be a more complete version.

Don’t call me Gordan Johnson, but a humanoid Bot that can take over Mundane and dangerous work is even more difficult than FSD. You solve 100 problems you discover 500 more problems. But its a nice idea though. I just don’t think it will be ready in a year.

  32. Clark Mills

    August 21, 2021 at 5:53 pm

The cyborg was really for the media to latch onto and showcase, similar to the glass-break-incident that the CyberTruck showcased.
Dojo & the D1 / tile especially were the show-stoppers for me. The AI for FSD is definitely progressing solidly but over my head.
    I found the high-resolution car-camera-mapping rather good; you’d have a real-world Google Maps that’s updated constantly.
