We’ve yet to fully understand even 1% of the Earth we’ve inhabited for millions of years. And now, we’re already seeking another planet. What a curious species we are! ????

IT SUNK IN THE OCEAN – Not exactly as planned. Thank God there were no people onboard returning from space.

    • @quiggles

      November 19, 2024 at 7:37 pm

Exactly as planned… There was never going to be humans on board… ????‍♂️

    • @ericinla65

      November 19, 2024 at 7:43 pm

@@quiggles Yes, because they knew it was a 50/50 change it wouldn’t return as planned and land as normal. I guess you didn’t watch the video. Halfway through the flight they figured out they couldn’t make the preferred location for landing. So they had no choice but to drop it in the ocean. Somewhat controlled

???????????? they made it to the moon years ago and now they have issues getting away from earth’s orbit? ????????????

    • @Nyonibjr

      November 19, 2024 at 7:37 pm

Not the same rockets, not fit the same purpose ????

    • @CeeJay591

      November 19, 2024 at 7:53 pm

They are trying to get to the moon for less than the 100’s of billions of dollars (in 2024 dollars) it cost in the 1060s. NASAs budget was astronomical for a decade or more during the 1960s and early 70s, and between that and Vietnam spending the US fell into a huge inflationary cycle which lasted for another 20+ years

At least one reason why 6 didn’t return to launch site is probably because at hotstage the hotstage seemed to fail to disconnect like or before then flight 5.

Dont get me wrong here, I wanted to see a failed mission / process every step of the way so the spaceX engineers can capture all the data and it will be fail proof and will perform like a clockwork just like Falcon 9. so I’m very happy with the outcome of this launch..

  17. @tommy2346

    November 20, 2024 at 11:20 am

How does that work landing in the ocean? Doesn’t it sink when it touches down, I mean those things are heavy

    • @jamespalmer9033

      November 20, 2024 at 11:22 am

By the time it lands it’s pretty much empty.

    • @tommy2346

      November 20, 2024 at 11:25 am

@jamespalmer9033  so it just floats there? Or do some sort of floating devices deploy?

    • @jamespalmer9033

      November 20, 2024 at 5:39 pm

@@tommy2346 As far as I know it floats under its own buoyancy, until either it gradually sinks or it’s retrieved for post-flight post-mortem.

I don’t understand what success is when the booster goes down to the sea? I saw the 5th time I caught it. I wonder when the booster is actually reused. This time it’s a completely new rocket!

A single SpaceX Falcon 9 launch releases 200 to 300 metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. The Super Heavy booster emits 2,683 tonnes of CO2, plus 1.7 tonnes of nitrous oxide.
    — Call me silly but this seems like a big environmental concern. Commercializing space at the expense of the environment.

    • @BlueBrickTV

      November 20, 2024 at 7:51 pm

The use of Falcon 9 rockets has already brought internet to over 4 million people as well as launching incredibly valuable scientific missions. On the other hand a single yacht can emit 7,020 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year (there are nearly 6,000 superyachts worldwide). I’m not saying comparison makes pollution okay, but rockets do help humanity, yachts generally do not.

Im of average intelligence so I need help to understand.
I grew up on the beach of Puget Sound Washington….you can spray fresh water on your kayaks, outdoor furniture, outside hardware, etc until you’re blue in the face and corrosion wins the day. How can those extremely critical “parts” of the booster be 100% for next launch.
Even with engines firing to ease impact doesnt the impact and even the dramatic cold water temperature result in damage?
One commenter said the booster will not be retrieved…is that true?
