How is it a secret if we’re watching it

Please can you compare the latest Google Pixel to Samsung S24 Ultra!

Interesting. I never got the impression that Google tested any of their products, or even used them at all. I’d be even more shocked if they actually used their own Home app to control the lights in the studio.

Troglodytes saying this is hetter, that is better, have some internalize issues that should seek behavioral therapy.

Interesting, it’s always nice seeing went certain decisions are made. Was really annoyed at first with their choices for video boost, wish they’d explained why back then

Waiting for when the Pixel devices can do the night sight video on the device instead of uploading it to the cloud for processing.

Same here. Still using pixel 3xl as daily driver and still going strong. Really speedy phone and great photos still in 2024

I’m happy to hear that there has been progress in improving video quality. It would be great if social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok could also enhance their video upload features to match the quality of iPhones. Perhaps, Google could form partnerships with these platforms or upgrade their camera API for developers to establish a new standard.

  17. @RarelyCorrect

    April 21, 2024 at 2:31 pm

This is an ad for a “phone feature” that isn’t really a phone feature. Video boost and night sight video are google photos features that just happen to be tied to specific devices for marketing purposes. When you buy a pixel, you’re not actually getting the ability to do night sight video – you’re getting a time-limited licence to use a cloud feature that will be taken away once it is no longer profitable.

  21. @MiguelSilvaX

Is there any way or specification that we could follow currently with other cameras or phones in order to be able to take advantage of cloud video boost in the future? I remember there was a Canon EOS alternative firmware (I think it was Magic Lantern if I’m not mistaken) that would capture video with 2 alternating exposures for each final frame of video done later on post processing.. but that would require a specific video App on a phone using some non standard camera API… hopefully Google could make it standard on future Android versions and Black Magic camera App could take advantage of it 😉

I hope in normal local processing Google Camera video can better image quality than Filmic Pro.

    April 21, 2024 at 9:42 pm

    My requests for Google team,
    1. Stop over processing human faces
    2. Images appear way too contrasty once 50MP sensors started shipping. Fix it.
    3. True 3X telephoto just for portraits. 5X or 10X for zoom

    • @Mark..01

      April 22, 2024 at 8:12 am

Taking a portrait with Pixel makes everyone look 10 years older. I don’t understand why they oversharpen the heck out of every line and pore on your face. Skin tones are generally pretty spot on, but the texture is terrible

  27. @michaelrfx7

    April 21, 2024 at 11:19 pm

Video Boost = Google needs your video without paying you the “user” for their future AI algorithm data-lakes/sets for video production. Google needs to pay us for using our data for these products, they just paid Reddit Millions for their data. Don’t be surprise if you see parts of your kids or family photos/video, faces, hair styles, tattoos, earrings and weddings rings and so in a AI Video generator created by Google for ad revenue, that once again you the user should be entitled too. Ask Google if any of the Video Boost data will be used indirectly or directly for AI generated content, seek their answer.

  30. @jimj2683

They need to make microphones/earphones that work outdoors in windy conditions.

Hopefully with pixel 9 they get dual exposure video.
In the meantime, anything that’s not on device its a no-no
