I think he doesn’t kill the boys because of a couple things partly because he would be insanely bored without the conflict that involves them all being around and how that probably unconsciously is him having a bit of a death wish and hating himself, since he definitely knows deep down somewhere that he is broken and that nothing he can do will fix that because it’s a result of his actions, how he was raised and his lack of morals. Also I wish he’d actually given an answer to this question other than being “because we wouldn’t have a show” as it feels like he’d have far more of an understanding of why than us as the person playing them for many years now.

I realized a very long time ago that I could never be an actor. It’s not because I can’t act. I’m actually quite good at that. I don’t have an expressive face. People can’t read me. I can be trying my damnedest to express emotion and I used to think I was being really obvious, and nobody ever had any idea what I was feeling. Maybe I should take up poker. The point is, having an expressive face is kind of a gift. Not everyone does, and if you don’t, it’s not something you can develop.

Okay, okay. We’ve never seen Homelander, or any other supe in the show, actually stop a crime. All of their superhero deeds are staged bits performed by Vought, with actors, and the actors, and often innocent bystanders, often end up dead in the process. Real criminals are probably relatively safe in this world, because Homelander isn’t going to bother himself with petty criminals.

My answer as to why Homelander doesn’t simply kill The Boys is because they entertain him. Nothing on the planet can really challenge him and so he finds their plots and antics to be fun (usually) and give him something to do besides stand around looking pretty.

More on the milk/psychopath connection, I’ve seen it as a portrayal of desire, the villains that tend to have this milk thing all have a common trait that the reason they are a villain is some form of severe childhood psychological damage or malformation in the way their brain forms relationships. I think the milk is symbolic of a lost innocence that these villains crave deep down either conscious or unconsciously. Along with all the symbolism of milk and the fact that its always a male villain with a milk obsession it always seemed clear to me the milk was symbolic for a lost childhood innocence.

14:07 – That’s interesting, but I think Butcher is as bad if not sometimes worse than Homelander. I don’t think his heart is in the right place at all, I’d say that’s exactly his problem. But his brains are in the “right” place when it comes to strategy. He’s the “means justify the end” kind of guy, who I don’t really see as good. And if you think that he has a heart because he’s doing it to save humanity, I’d use a quote that says “It is a sharp mind that feels sympathy for one who suffers unnecessarily, not a soft heart.” They definitely have a nice dualism as enemies and in terms of brain/heart situation. Awesome show and great performance!

When he says ‘a show recently ended and NOBODY died’ i instantly knew he was talking about stranger things and i couldn’t agree more. That whole final season for me personally had no tention or investment because you knew that all of the main cast have infinite plot armour and that none of the main cast at any point were in any real danger and it kinda ruined it for me. Stranger things seemed absolutely terrified of upsetting anyone by killing off a main character so they would always introduce new characters in each season just to kill them of at the end to give the illusion of danger. I forever and always will say that they should have killed max off in that grave yard scene when vecna got her and it would have added so much emotional tention to the final series. Instead you knew the whole way through that everyone would live happily ever after and that the bad guy would lose.

If Mistborn ever gets an adaptation, it might be the closest to the best ending we’ll ever get that most people will be satisfied with.
As for The Boys, I’m scratching my head as to how this show will end because even after the most recent episode, I have no idea what will happen.

This is the first time that I’m seeing him outside of the show and he looks so tiny compared to the character (he also kind of looks like The Deep). Shout out to the camera men and director’s of the show for working the heck out of the angles!!! 👏🏾🎉 and, of course the entire spectacular cast & writers that keep us locked into the universe! 🎉👏🏾🎉 Going to miss this show. 😥👏🏾

I think people who have a ‘fear of heights’ need to discern whether it’s an actual ‘fear of heights’ or ‘fear of falling’
I love climbing and being high up; but if there’s no relatively high guards to prevent a fall, I get vertigo. When it comes to flying; it’s not up to me. If I go down we’re all going down.
