now imagine living in a country where your currency is much weaker than the dollar, so the game would cost double the amount it would in the US….

I always wait until the games are 2-3 years old before buying…then I get it for $20 brand new. Fortunately not everyone does this or the video game industry would be in trouble…

I honestly wouldn’t mind if the prices go up but they cut back on microtransactions but we both know that won’t happen.

Who are the morons that are liking this video.

Game developers have it hard, they do, but right now in this industry there is no trust between the consumer and the developer, what they have to do is justify the need for that increase, if every $70-80 game is as good as Spiderman, Forza, god of war etc, then to me that justifies this asking price, but if we get an $80 FIFA 2020 that’s just a FIFA 2016 with added sweat graphics, then we will see a crash.

70 money units is a large chunk of change, 60 was always a large chunk, it’s hardly a sustainably disposable number.

There was definitely a push for higher prices when XB1 and PS4 first came out but publishers switched to a more price discriminating system by allowing people with more disposable income (or addictions) to keep paying for more content in their favourite games. The argument that the base price staying constant is unsustainable would only apply to games that refused to integrate microtransactions, which, regardless of whether a game is $60 or $70, would remain prevalent.

  21. Cotten Helmsworth

    July 13, 2020 at 11:29 am

Well I wont be playing those games. Instead I will devote my time to unlocking the new Xbox and then pirate all the content to the world for free. So expect us.

  22. Chaika Gaz

    July 13, 2020 at 3:06 pm

I already pay $70 or $80 for ps4 deluxe edition copies. It just means now ill have to pay $ 90 – $100. I hope they dont ask us to pay micro transaction on top of it.

  23. Harris Roberts

    July 13, 2020 at 4:42 pm

$10 extra isn’t that much more ppl. Its like an extra 1/2 hour of work to pay the difference

  24. Zay Solano

    July 13, 2020 at 5:42 pm

Welp, time to dust off all my ps2 games.

  25. RO

    July 13, 2020 at 9:10 pm

But you didn’t bring up how much they make off of in game sales. expansion packs, that is how they make up the cost
