I feel like you want me to say you are weird???? but you are not. Studies have shown it is easier to fall asleep when the temperature is cooler. ????

Many people don’t have HVAC and have electric baseboard thermostats. And now smart thermostats from Sinopé and Mysa and others can do baseboards. CNET should do something on smart baseboard thermostats.

both of those thermostats cost over 100 bucks. do people not pay attention the videos theme or narrative

      February 26, 2022 at 3:49 pm

@Greg Hines TH1123ZB is under $100.. But my point wasn’t cost my point was that the Wyze and Amazon options will not work with electric heat. You must have a HVAC system. In Canada many of us just have electric heat and don’t require AC. So we have to buy the line voltage thermostats. And as of now CNET has ONLY done reviews on HVAC based thermostats.

These will be perfect for the green Nazis when they want to start regulating our HVAC systems. They can remotely control your thermostat just like they want to do with our cars.

Tell us more about your amazing saturday morning Matt. You sound like you’ve really over thought most of the things in your life, much like a (checks notes) a wall thermostat.

Well first of all great review. I was once a Nest owner for about 5 years but last year for reason. It wouldn’t do voice commands meaning if ask Alexa to off it wouldn’t. I try the step reboot and reset. But it didn’t work so and just around that time Amazon came out with theirs. It was a no brainer condensing. I have a Amazon Alex eco system must say I haven’t had and problems. And no CNET I don’t think it’s weird to sleep in the cold. Personally I can’t fall a sleep when the heater is on. Just think about it when it summer 99% of people with a/c don’t turn on a heater at night to go to sleep.

What trim plate do you have behind the Amazon Smart Thermostat?? I don’t see one listed on Amazon. Thanks

I’m still trying to figure out why one needs a smart thermostat with all these BS. My $40 one has hi and low temps that’s it.

I would like to know if their capable of controlling a humidifier. Do they have a built in Humidistat?.

I have the Amazon and the geofencing works with no problem. The issue I have is setting up my wife’s phone as well as mine. It turns off my system when I leave the house and she’s still home.

How would I know if I need the adapter?

  16. SAS Stewart

    February 26, 2022 at 8:59 pm

I’ve installed about 10 of these and most (9) needed the C wire adapter. These are good options, i personally like the ecoobee.

    • Michael Arnold

      February 27, 2022 at 2:23 am

What YEAR does the house or apt need to be need a C wire or have one already?

  17. Alexander B

Just get Honeywell thermostat, good price and reliable

  18. David Stone

    February 27, 2022 at 3:26 am

I got the Amazon one just after they came out while it was on sale. Easy install.
Now I can just yell at Alexa to turn the heat up or down.
I also didn’t like reviews I saw about the manual control wheel on the Wyze.
What ever you pick, check with your utility company. My gas company had a rebate on smart thermostats that paid for it!

I think it’s weird to think it’s weird to like sleeping cold because of how comfortable it is for sure.

We have a separate HVAC system for our bonus room…some weird code her in N Cakilaky. So we have a Wyze upstairs and a Eccobee downstairs
