Happy 20th anniversary YouTube! 2 decades ago since the first video was uploaded in 2005, also with tons of music and music videos. It has come a super long way and I cannot wait for next year of the 21st anniversary.

I think YouTube has to delete Norfner channels to keep the Norf strong. Norfners don’t run on earned income.

I started visiting YT in 2006 too.
An anime AMV i used to have at my pc of Kiss by Rose 😂 was the first thing I saw here.

The only thing I don’t like about the nowadays YT is the difficulty to search things and the amount of loss media we have through all this time (and Ads , obviously lol)

Wow… 20 years of YouTube. I still remember turning on my computer at my grandmother’s house at the end of 2006—just a year after this platform launched. It blows my mind that it’s been 19 years since then. I remember my first Rick Roll like it was yesterday. Watching this video fills me with so much nostalgia. Some of the creators and clips in here genuinely feel like they helped raise me. I grew up with Thomas the Tank Engine videos, dancing to Crazy Frog, and diving into the weird, wonderful world of early YouTube. 2006 was such a great year. Time really does fly… and somehow YouTube’s been there the whole way.

This is giving me flashbacks of clunky online media options from the latter 2000s. You tube, Justin TV, Ustream, Last FM, Veetle, Deezer etc. We’ve come a long way since then

My favorite youtube rescue story (circa ~2008 ) my friend had removed the wires from the distributor cap of his car, not realizing they had to be reconnected in the same order. Youtube can fix this I thought… and yes, somebody somewhere uploaded a video of engine work done on the same model of car, and that revealed the order of the wires.
