X still has a Verified Bot problem. And this time, they’re coming for TechCrunch writers. Recently, TechCrunch staff writers have noticed there are more and more bots have created imposter accounts on the platform. Now that all it takes to get a blue check is the willingness to pay a monthly subscription, imposter accounts have been popping up all over X and getting them taken down is harder than you’d think.

Hi, a quick suggestion, instead of uploading 2-3 minutes videos, can you please upload a compilation of all making a healthy 15-20 minute video — that would be easier to watch instead of going through each of them separately because every 2-3 minutes I have to close the video and open a new one. Love your content by the way! Keep growing! ????

I don’t know if anyone can in good faith believe his “too many bots” reason for buying it. He hated that him and his hyper-neo-conservative tech-bro buddies were constantly getting dunked on by strangers and being punished by the platform for breaking their rules and he couldn’t take the criticism

LOL. There are people who _want_ a verified Twitter account? LOL. And give over personal information! It gets more and more patheticer around the web every day; Oh, and Musk didn’t buy Twitter because of the bots. It’s quasi-political because it involves someone in politics who knows zero about politics or anything else that matters in the world except how to not pay bills to developers.
