When they’re no longer profitable. It’ll be a while.

It probably won’t for a very long time, considering Apple is the richest corporation in the entire world, and iPhones sell like hotcakes. Maybe they’ll get better under a new CEO in the future.

iPhones over 2+ generations are substantial enough upgrades. They release them frequently so everyone can upgrade at their own pace.

They aren’t releasing them for everyone to buy each year. They are like cars which also release a new model each year with incremental updates. The iPhone 14 or older users will upgrade this year and iPhone 15 users or older will upgrade to iPhone 17.

    • @MC-tt4mw

      September 8, 2024 at 1:28 am

Speak for yourself. My plan allows me to trade in and upgrade every year and I love it. If you have a 14 or 15, you don’t really need to upgrade unless u want the pro max AI features

What more do you want a phone to do? Apple’s competitive advantage is their ecosystem.

You’re also forgetting that Apple intelligence will not be available in China or the EU and indeed to get any of them in the UK you need to change your language settings to English US. I will be interested to see how Apple handles the fragmentation of their customer experience both based on age and capacity of device and geographical restrictions.
