$60 for consistently under 100mbps is actually expensive. This should be priced closer to $30 a month.

Lol you can tell they were told to say 25 to 50 mbps is MORE THEN ENOUGH lol ???? thumbs down for that.

It is more than enough. You don’t need crazy speeds to game. You need low ping /MS and only then if you are playing online multiplayer games

    • Tony

      May 5, 2021 at 3:39 pm

@jon petersburg if you live by yourself you’re fine, most people don’t and have families. ????????‍♂️ we are living in a time where one person will have at least 1 or 2 devices in their name.

Home internet in the US is so so expensive. My home internet is just as fast, for a 10 times smaller monthly fee. I live in Bulgaria, but I think it’s similar in all European countries.

      May 5, 2021 at 3:29 pm

But do you have a data cap ?

    • Stefan Borisov

      @jon petersburg nope, unlimited

      May 5, 2021 at 3:58 pm

@jon petersburg as I said, the internet in the US is VERY EXPENSIVE, it’s the same for mobile data

Competition is great! Glad to see T-mobile offer this service. The more competition a market has the better for consumers in most cases. Keep up the good work and let this be a lesson for other areas of the economy… we need more competition and more options.

I have T mobile and I’m a big fan. But for $60 for a “hotspot” that might hit 100mb. I mean I pay 10-15 more and get 240mb all day. Maybe when the price is more competitive and consistent speeds I’m down

  20. BKLYN Gamer 77

    May 5, 2021 at 7:13 pm

I would get this but since this is new the speeds might not be favorable also depends on location.

Had t-mobile home internet since last month on the 16th and we are a T-Mobile family so I’m pretty sad about the service and the reps I’ve had to deal with.

Hardly no real good speeds at all
    Kept dropping, buffing etc

I had two reps even tell me I shouldn’t stay with t-mobile and I should find someone else that could be better for me.

I sadly cancelled after that interaction.
We are keeping on six other lines but home internet is no longer welcomed in our home.

Fiber is still preferred for single digit latency. But for casual streamers and cord cutters this is a very viable option.

  36. miniskunk

    May 8, 2021 at 2:12 am

My experience is a no to gaming. It does everything my wired internet does, but the jitter rendered online gaming a no go. I tested with Team Fortress 2 and was dying to my own rockets as soldier because of excessive jitter. Lots of rubber banding and other players disappearing and teleporting around. I have the first router they sent out during the beta phase that is 4g only and am locked in at $50 a month for now. Downloads speeds in my area is about 100mpbs and upload around 15mbps. Latency was very close to what I get with Charter. I use my connection as a backup to Charter since they have separate fiber lines into town for when they have outages to keep my business running which is highly dependent on an internet connection. I did talk Charter down to $54.95 a month letting them know I was trying T-Moble Home internet and thinking of cancelling service. I got on the waiting list to swap out for the 5g router. I hope that will be better for gaming than 4G was.

    May 8, 2021 at 4:12 pm

It’s a great option for those with limited options, but it’s definitely not for online gamers- especially FPS gamers. While speeds seem to be just good enough, latency is WAY too high. That’s a deal-breaker with first-person shooters.

    May 8, 2021 at 6:04 pm

Tmo /Verizon( and At&t if they launch a similar service) will destroy the garbage cable providers. In my town theres only 1 option and the service get So Many Complaints. And when theres a storm good luck not having an internet outage. Sad part is we aren’t even rural – just 50 min out from a major us city.

Awesome option! Can’t wait to get rid of Spectrum!
