Samsung Galaxy Z Flip: 3 months later

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip isn’t the perfect phone or the most powerful phone. It doesn’t have the best cameras or battery life. It costs $1,380. And yet its foldable fun has won me over. I’ve been using it for three months and here’s everything you need to know, from durability and the crease to…

    Great review.

Samsung i want a phone like Huawei foldable phone from you. But 10 to 11 inch when its unfolded with S Pen built in. That’s will be great.

I think a good question is, would you by this phone if the gimmick of flipping it was removed? If yes would you buy it for the same price? How much is the flip actually worth?

It’s really not that serious. The only thing my Note 9 doesn’t do is flip or fold. Otherwise my note 9 is pretty much the same thing. Im not going to pay to fold a phone. Cuz technically in order to use it, it has to be fully opened. I’ll seriously pass. Nope….

Ive had mine for 3 months and love it. I have however found that the screen is easily scratchable with nails and I have several on mine. I figure ill ride out the first year and use Samsungs screen replacement program come January. There’s a lot of areas for improvement but its undeniably well engineered

Great and honest review as always. Great point on software support for a phone of that price. Samsung is not known for being the best at pushing updates on time or supporting their devices for very long. That to me is a deal breaker.

Good CNET videos are extremely rare. I like the relaxed, very personal approach to this Samsung review… considerably better than the self-important, smug reviews of that guy over at The Verge. Not interested in phones or the Flip but enjoyed the whole video.

This review kinda sucks. You’re just saying the same thing over and over again. I wasn’t a big fan of this review, because you repeat yourself a lot. The video really frustrated me, because of how often you’d make a point, then say the exact same thing in a different way.

I want to Believe that Samsung figures the Front Small Screen wouldn’t be a big deal to Samsung Galaxy S Users. Especially if you use a Galaxy S Phone with one of Samsung View Flip Case, that give you a small View at Minimum Notifications. I could be wrong, that just pop out to me, when I first seen the Concept. The Screen wasn’t meant to be used to that extreme. The Crease, people need to get over it. Until Samsung or someone Invented a Screen with a Material that can allow the Glass to Fold without a Crease. Your going to be stuck with the Crease. Then keep in mind that Samsung was Targeting this Phone for their Female Customers. All the Females I know that seen it Love it. For me, I stick to my Samsung Galaxy Fold. The Z Flip is a great looking Phone to me, I Think any Woman would Love to have it.

I always liked flip phones back in the days, glad they come back at it, but I will wait some years before jumping on this because there is still room for improvement either on hardware side for this new technology or from the software side that needs to be better optimized and more apps taking advantages of the flip screen.

Can you leave the flip unfolded in your pocket? If you open partially and not unfolding it all the way does it add up to a full flip cycle of you partially open and not close it all the way?

The razr looks so much better, its a shame they skimped on the specs for such an expensive device. I love the razr front screen and it looks better display wise.

  62. Milla Li

Contrary to a user’s comment below which was a very self-conceited comment- half the folks out there wouldn’t just buy the phone for looks. I hate attention so even if I flipping open at home.. it is just for MY satisfaction. NOT YOURS. My money’s worth already. I mean if you really buy things JUST to impress others…….????

    But anyhoos.

I’ll get this because this checks the following boxes:

✔ Nostalgia- I’ve always been a flip fan and missed it for the reasons mentioned below.
✔Compact size- I’m a woman and I carry the smallest bags and sometimes land up with the Note in my hand or pocket and I grieved for years for a flip phone to make a comeback. Thickness of the flip doesn’t affect as much as length.
✔Privacy- 10 points for discretion. I have always hated (even though you can make the messages not show) that a phone just displays everything- messages or calls for everyone to see. Unless you have it face down (eww to germs to face). So I honestly appreciate the small notification window to the front.
✔Not butt dialing. I am overrrr how paranoid brick phones make me feel.
✔The guarantee that once you’ve set the phone like this, you can hang up by just flipping it shut
✔It will be an upgrade to the current phone I have and lastly…
    ✅✅✅IT’S FREAKING PURPLE !!!!!!????????????

    May 19, 2020 at 10:48 pm

I wouldn’t trade a glass screen for a fragile plastic one.
