Biodesigner Natsai Audrey Chieza prototypes the future, imagining a world where people and nature can thrive together. In this wildly imaginative talk, she shares the vision behind her innovation lab, which works at the intersection of nature, technology and society to create sustainable materials and models for the future. Chieza invites us to consider what kind of world we wish for — and what systemic changes and collaborations need to happen for it to exist.

The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Nice and sounds good if everyone is perfect and rainbows and unicorns exist. In reality, the major top issue is with very advanced technology getting in the hands of the corrupt and misinformed to cause non-repairable damage to the future of the planet.

its not individuals, its individuals taking advantage of a poorly —-designed— system. A more intentional design to public space, work, food, ect can lead to mass results. We have to put in hard work to make living sustainably effortless.

I know it’s hard to go deep in less than 10 minutes, but this is a very shallow video, full of marketing-style buzzwords that don’t mean anything without context or details.
I’m honestly unsure what the point of this video is, other than “Modern problems need modern solutions! My team exists to explore these solutions!”. It feels like a sales pitch for investors.

Except society mandates function for people to live. Humans have to work in numerous disciplines to sustain this system. That’s why lockdowns have had catastrophic effects on world economies & caused mass unemployment due to reduced productivity.

You cannot just print endless money. Problems must be solved instead of being exaggerated & delayed. People have to return to normal quickly.
